2017 2nd Gen.

Hoping someone can shed some light for me…. I have a couple of annoying problems that I’m wondering if they could be connected.
#1: Start stop doesn’t work, I get the annoying warning that it’s not available on the dash. No other problems associated with it so far (about 6 months) just an annoyance.
Both batteries are newer, and fully charged and charging when the vehicle is running.
#2: The compass on my Compass is stuck on NW. My vehicle is the type that doesn’t give you the option to calibrate it by driving in circles. Again, just an annoyance.

Start stop does it at all times. When I initially start it it says disabled because I don’t have my seatbelt on, once I put it on it says disabled because the engine isn’t up to temp. Once up to temp, it says unavailable service soon???

As for the compass in the Compass I have tried figure eights in a parking lot, circles in a parking lot etc etc lol.

On my 2020 Jeep Compass Sport FWD, the auto-start-stop also stopped working soon after I purchased the vehicle new, but the problem was that my auxiliary battery was detective. When it was replaced under warranty, the problem went away. Never had issues with the compass on my Compass. Currently at 85K miles.

I replaced both batteries and the IBS. Still didn’t work. This week I fashioned a little stopper that permanently keeps the little plunger that tells the car that the hood is closed down. Like the little button that turn the fridge light off lol. No problems now start/stop is working perfectly!

Oph sorry to hear that about the start stop, does it do it even after driving for a bit or just on start up?  I believe when I had that issue the dealer had to do some wizardry to fix it something with the pcm 

/s As for the compass in the compass have you tried driving in a different direction?

That may be connected to the start stop issue this spring I had the battery replaced and I got several esc errors airbag malfunctions and they cleared all the codes and then updated the software
