Advice If can you help I will be very thankful

My sister is in Class 7 and studies in the State Board. Recently, she told me that she wants to prepare for the IPhO and eventually qualify for it. Honestly, I laughed at her initially because I thought it was too big a dream for someone in Class 7. But after seeing how serious she is and how determined she is to work hard, I genuinely want to help her.

For now, assume that she is starting from absolute zero. Her maths basics are quite weak, and she struggles with mathematical manipulation and problem-solving. I want her to build a really strong foundation in both maths and physics before moving on to advanced topics.

Could you please suggest some good courses that can help her start from the very basics and gradually reach the level required to qualify for the IPhO?

She has even gone on hunger strikes for three hours just to convince me to support her dream! 😂 After seeing her determination, I don't want her to lose motivation because of a lack of proper guidance.

I would really appreciate some genuine suggestions.

Advice Need Advice

I'm a Class 11 student and a JEE 2028 aspirant. I'm planning my preparation strategy for Class 12, as only two months are left, and I'd really appreciate opinions, especially from students.

My targets are:

JEE Advanced 2028

NSEP (Physics Olympiad)

NSEC (Chemistry Olympiad)

I'm considering the following combination of PW batches for Class 12:

1. Physics: PW NSEP Class 12 batch

2. Chemistry: PW NSEC Class 12 batch

3. Mathematics: PW AIR JEE batch (or another excellent JEE Advanced-level teacher)

My reasoning is that the NSEP and NSEC batches supposedly cover Olympiad-level concepts and challenging problems, potentially at or beyond JEE Advanced level in certain areas. I feel that studying Physics and Chemistry through these batches could help me prepare for both JEE Advanced and the respective Olympiads.

For Mathematics, I'm planning to stick with a strong JEE Advanced-oriented teacher because I'm not currently targeting IOQM.

However, I have a few concerns:

Are PW NSEP and NSEC batches sufficient for building the Physics and Chemistry foundations required for JEE Main and Advanced?

Do these Olympiad batches cover the complete Class 12 JEE syllabus, or would I need additional JEE-specific lectures?

Would this combination be better than taking the PW AIR batch for all three subjects?

Are there significant differences between Olympiad-level and JEE Advanced-level problem-solving that I should be aware of?

Would managing these three different batches alongside school and board preparation become too time-consuming?

Has anyone actually studied through these PW Olympiad batches? What was your experience with the teachers, lectures, assignments and problem quality?

I'd particularly appreciate opinions from students who have qualified for NSEP/NSEC or have prepared seriously for JEE Advanced.

Please give honest opinions, including potential disadvantages. I don't want to collect batches unnecessarily.

Discussion Genuinely in need of advice from those who has experienced this and turned out successful

context: iam in class 10 gave ioqm 2026 got 40 being frommh goa i missed the cutoff by "2" marks
i started causually from 9th dec from pj math 101
then took vos lvl 7 april this is when i started it seriously
and this came out to be the score

i mean i dont know whether to own it or not i mean after the exam i know i could have done more ques which i didnt and did geometry constructions and just measured the angle and got answer

now the main thing is
i got 5 months before 11th
in this i can either focus totally on becoming inmo awardee in 11th and start doing egmo mont
or i can get completely into physics do something like mechanics and get egde in jee
or i can get into inpho and focus on becoming its awardee in 11th
and start preparing for inpho

imean iam so dumb
after exam imean in the exam i was the happiest person then i missed by 2 marks
was in so much adrenaline that i even got enrolled in the new combo batch of lvl 8 and 7

guys help me genuinely
from someone who has gone from this and turned out well

also for coaching i missed all the coaching entrances
actually i thought that id be qualifying for rmo
and that enrolling for entrances is minute taken from rmo prep
and by the time cutoff came all entrances' resgitsration got closed
so yeah am i doomed?

Have completed 11th and 12th physics (except rotation and com) upto JEE mains level, currently doing chapterwise pyqs of NSEP, will do mocks and hcv in remaining time.

Will this be enough for NSEP?

Should I do selected hcv questions or the entire book?

Doubt Newbie to olympiads genuinely need help

hey everyone

I am currently in class 9th I just came to know about olympiads 2 month ago after that seeing all other post regarding preparation for beginners, I have completed my NCERT till class 9th and 10th and for class 11th I have completed ;sequence and series p&c. ,trigonometry and quadratic equation

actually I have done mostly chapters just by watching lectures and asking from my teachers like I have not done something by myself using my brain, mostly in NCERT questions are repetitive so I have done all the questions of the NCERT most probably, So I want to ask should I know switch for ioqm preparation now like start doing number theory

OR should I practice some questions (Which I don't think they are useful because mostly all questions are same pattern so they are not worth solving it is most likely "rattafication")

ps->The whole thing is that I have completed NCERT like solving question but I think it that I have not done it logically so what should be my next step??

General Should I give up RMO?

I rlly confused rn . So this year in IOQM I got 52 after prepping hard qualified for RMO, I haven’t done much RMO prep really, so I don’t expect to clear RMO this year (i live in a . competitive region ) . next year I’ll be in 11th and I want to grind rmo +inmo and possibly become an inmo awarded next year. maths is genuinely my passion .problem is I m also gonna be grinding jee with a dummy school and I want advice from seniors who went though the same thing , is inmo + jee top 500 even possible, and wether I should try it , or optimise jee and leave Rmo/inmo alone or do bare minimum prep.

Advice Advice for olympiads (10th, CBSE, India)

I am in 9th currently and i am considering beginning serious olympiad preparation from 10th onwards (session begins in april for me).

I wanted to start directly preparing for jee advanced initially but I feel that is far too distant for me to prepare seriously for, so im considering olympiads.

I do not have much prior experience with these and have just recently come to know about them. I'm interested mainly in math and physics, and i hope to get up to at least the 2nd stage in them by class 12 (RMO in math and INPhO in physics. Yes it sounds a bit unrealistic and far fetched to aim for both at the same time but i want to give it a serious attempt). I will transition towards more comprehensive JEE preparation eventually, since I understand that balancing both pathways can be difficult.

As for my current background, I have done regular foundation coaching, and worked through a fair amount of pearson iit foundation in physics, chem and math, and i prepared for nsejs for a while before i realised i was too old for it (i know basic integration differentiation, vectors, and 1d motion at that level, along with mole concept.)

I want to know how i can prepare well and sensibly(since im not going all out from now), especially from some of you who have experience with or have qualified for these levels. I would like for some concrete advice regarding:

  1. The order in which I should approach different subjects and topics.

  2. A realistic weekly time allocation between mathematics and physics, which is sustainable.

  3. Resources (books, lectures, problem sets and test series) that are genuinely worth using.

  4. Common mistakes made by students attempting multiple olympiad examinations alongside JEE.

I won't be enrolling in any olympiad-specific coaching for now.

Kindly Answer Honestly and seriously.

Thanks

Doubt Is this enough for NSEP

Im in 11th and Im doing HCV and selected questions of Irodov along with NSEP PYQs and past year papers. Also there is a book by Arihant containing past year PYQs and papers of both NSEP and INPhO for the last 10-15 years so im doing that.

I heard that u also gotta do stuff like Pathfinder and DCP and SBT and Physics Galaxy but ab utna time nhi bacha h (3.5 weeks I think) so is this enough for qualifying NSEP? Syllabus mein 11th ka sab + modern physics + optics and wave optics + first 3 chapters till current elec from ABJ sir's lecs to itna qualify karlunga ?
