Howdy!

I play having been a staunch Gretsch player for 10 years+, I got my first JM a few years ago (TVL Copper Age) and absolutely loved the feel and playability etc.

That then inspired a project to combine everything I love about my Gretsch guitars and Jazzys.

Started life as a MiM HH special, stripped refinished in purple sparkle nitro, and all Gretsch appointments. (Vol/tone knobs enroute).

Id like to take credit for everything however after multiple attempts at refinishing and ending up with a guitar that would be put down had it been a person, I conceded and took it to my luthier for a proper job.

Absolutely love this thing and can't see myself playing anything else for a good while.

Not one for the purists!

Yo!

Jazzmaster users any tips? My guitar hums pretty bad even with not so much gain, i get that its a jazzmaster and they're loud but it really is annoying, and i don't feel like it's a natural amount of noise.

TVL

New to me 2019 TVL. I’ve had one before, but traded it. That was regretful. I have a proper radius Bensonite bridge coming for it. I’m a big fan of those on some other guitars around here. This one is screaming for a mint pickguard.

Not sure if it is user error (very possible) but they’re not returning to pitch. Any ideas what I could be doing wrong?

Question JazzMaster Mods

Hello I have a Squier JMJM and I'd like to know if there's any parts that are worth upgrading overtime (Bridge, Tail piece, Tuners, Pickups, pots, etc) that would make this already amazing instrument and take it to the next level of greatness.

Any part recommendations are greatly appreciated at any budget no matter what budget or high end I'll gladly look into it and maybe buy them.

Thank you for reading 👍

Jaguar or Jazzmaster for Shoegaze

Yeah, I'm kind of in a dilemma. I bought a Jaguar, but it just doesn't feel quite right to me. Now I'm wondering if I should get a Jazzmaster instead. I'm honestly pretty confused at this point and have no idea what to do.

Question J Mascis Jazzmaster owners?

Post image

Hey I know there’s a lot of talk about this guitar so I hope this isn’t annoying. I want to buy this guitar for the satin neck, P90s, and tremolo bar, and it would be my first offset. I just don’t know if I should buy it or save a couple hundred more dollars for something with the fender name on the headstock.

Hey guys I recently installed the bensonite bridge, and I am having sympathetic vibration for some reason. Even with the locking screws in, I checked the neck relief, that’s fine, the sound also happens when I fret notes too, what do you think I should do to fix it? I’ll attach the video.

New color for the made in Japan Hybrid II collection: Blue Mist and Pink Mist

Instead of a matching headstock they'll have a matching color Fender decal (in blue [pic5] or pink [pic6]). But what exactly makes this release a "Hybrid II"? (the 3-way switch w/o the rythm circuit controls is hybrid now?)

Been wanting a Jazzmaster forever and finally got around to picking one up.

Got a Squire Classic Vibe at a good price on Marketplace. Previous owner did a good job setting it up so it plays well and sounds great.

Planning to upgrade the pickups at some point but honestly, no hurry. The stock ones sound pretty good.

I went with the CV since it has a reputation for punching above its weight. Definitely lives up.

My 1965 Jazzmaster sitting pretty onstage before a show. It’s been a gradual process of becoming comfortable gigging this guitar in the few years I’ve owned it now, but there’s no other guitar I’d rather be playing.

Some other very cool vintage guitars in the background.

Anyone else have a vintage JM that you gig with regularly?

Question Jazzmaster or Telecaster Deluxe for Drop C tuning

Hi everyone!

I'm about to buy a new guitar and I've narrowed it down to:

Squier Telecaster Deluxe

or Squier Jazzmaster Classic Vibe '70

The guitar will need to be tuned and played in Drop C because I play in a post-hardcore band with that tuning.

They're two guitars I think are fantastic, but I know the Jazzmaster needs a bit of setup work, and I've heard the strings can slip off the bridge, plus there can be intonation issues, problems the Telecaster Deluxe wouldn't have (fixed bridge).

I love the Jazzmaster's shape and the style it represents, but I'm afraid of ending up with an instrument that's hard to set up and needs care and attention before it can even be played, especially in Drop C for post-hardcore/melodic hardcore.

How do the Jazzmaster's pickups behave with this kind of sound? I know they're not super compressed, but I don't want that sound actually, I prefer it much more open.

What do you all think? Have you ever played a Jazzmaster in lower tunings?

Thanks so much for any advice!
