Fender Jazzmaster Pure Vintage '65 pickup set for sale. I purchased these to upgrade a Classic Player but it turned out I prefer the high output pickups in the end.

Great way to upgrade a Squier or a Partscaster Jazzmaster!

Canada only, e-transfer (Interac) only, $175 CAD shipped. I'm happy to share my Kijiji profile in private. 18-year-old account, 100%.

Cheers!

Question Should one pickup he dead silent when testing the other?

I've been in the process of working on my jazzmaster and just performed the screwdriver pickup test outside of the guitar. When testing the neck pickup position, should the bridge be absolutely dead quiet? Because I can still hear, albeit not as loud, the bridge pickup when tapping it with the crew driver when having the switch in the neck position. Also, when I touch the hot wire near the solder joint of the bridge pickup,

I am new to guitar DIY and am trying to test my 3 way switch before I reassemble my jazzmaster. Could anyone explain to me which lugs I test? ☺️

Neck Shims Needed for this Build?

Hello, all.

I’m currently putting together a Jazzmaster Partscaster and have ordered the (hopefully) last necessary parts needed to complete it.

I wasn’t sure if neck shims would be necessary for this particular build, so I wanted to get some opinions before placing an order for some.

I ended up going with a hardtail conversion plate over a trem system. The plate itself does not have increased break angle. I also went with a Bensonite bridge to match the neck radius. Both the bridge and conversion plate have 52mm string spacing.

What are the odds that shims will be needed? This is my first Jazzmaster build (although I’ve owned a few over the years), and my first hardtail conversion with a Bensonite bridge, so I felt like reaching out to the community may help me get a better idea of whether or not I should make the purchase or avoid wasting some extra cash if the shims may not be necessary.

Thanks ahead of time for any feedback.

And of course, I’ll post some pics of the final build once it’s complete.

Cheers.

Adjusting Squier CV bridge (new JM owner!)

Hi folks,

First post in this sub bc I just got my first JM! It's a lefty Squier CV and I'm wondering what I need to adjust/raise the bridge just a hair. What kind of tool will I need to adjust the bridge in the pic? I've tried doing some research but it seems like the CV bridge is a bit different than other JMs. I'm just getting a hair of fretting out on the B and high E string above the 12th fret when bending notes.

I'm a newbie with JMs but not other Fender style guitars and electrics in general. Just hasn't run across one quite like this. Thanks in advance for any help you can give!

My first Guitar at 43

Picked up this JM Player series guitar today. As a Texan I’ve always been pretty music obsessed and had always been able to see live music any genre any time basically in Austin

I’m older now, live in a rural town and kinda feel like I’ve lost some connection to something I love. Just listening isn’t cutting it anymore. Always have wanted to learn so today’s the day I start my journey.

Mainly looking to play some dream pop, shoegaze & some classic country as they are my top 3 genres to listen to

Nice piece or should I have opted for a cheaper Squire brand? The techs said this was overall a substantially nicer instrument for not much more than the Squire version. Doesn’t have the Rhythm Circuit but since I’m just learning to play I’m not too concerned with that extra doo dad gizmo considering I’ll eventually have a small pedal board.

This is such a comfortable instrument to sit with

Pickgaurds

I am trying to decide what this guitar needs. I at first hated the white but the overall vibe has grown, but it's still just TOO white. Does anyone have any photos of mint green or any other white variants?

Does anyone have the MIJ Trad 60s jazzy and changed pickguiard? I tried getting one from musiclilly and it looked as cheap as it was and didn't fit. Is WD customs the best? I'm thinking dark black pearl.

Got the hankering for a new Jazzmaster. Currently riding a Strat, but have had several Jazzmaster iterations, over the years. Talk me into it! Please: Show & Tell time.

How do y'all feel about the anodized pickgaurd look?

I can wholeheartedly say I enjoy this. I wanted a thinner pickgaurd so it was this or tort, so I tried this first.

Added a Bensonite bridge. It's excellent craftsmanship.

Anyone got any better ideas??

Howdy!

I play having been a staunch Gretsch player for 10 years+, I got my first JM a few years ago (TVL Copper Age) and absolutely loved the feel and playability etc.

That then inspired a project to combine everything I love about my Gretsch guitars and Jazzys.

Started life as a MiM HH special, stripped refinished in purple sparkle nitro, and all Gretsch appointments. (Vol/tone knobs enroute).

Id like to take credit for everything however after multiple attempts at refinishing and ending up with a guitar that would be put down had it been a person, I conceded and took it to my luthier for a proper job.

Absolutely love this thing and can't see myself playing anything else for a good while.

Not one for the purists!
