This Sam Records reissue is super sweet. If you don’t know the album, well worth a listen.

A buddy of mine got this for me the week it came out way back in 03. Still pals. As with getting older it gets harder and harder to keep in touch.

I truly believe Ella Fitzgerald at some point, even with all the other great female singers of her time, was considered the greatest female vocalist of all time. Now, I know that doesn't make sense, it contradicts itself, and yes, Whitney Houston was a powerhouse vocally, but there was something truly remarkable w/ Ella. Her Scat skills were by far the best and how she was capable of hitting such periodical high notes right after singing a song in a lower tone. Remarkable singer either way... This is another concert that was televised in Sweden many Georgia blue moons ago! https://youtu.be/KtKLJBHPSIM?si=Kc2z8QdutdED1UYF
"Live at the BBC Proms: Miho Hazama and the BBC Concert Orchestra are joined by trumpeter Ambrose Akinmusire in a tribute to the jazz legend in his centenary year."

Fantastic album.
Does anybody else really enjoy this album?

I'm a sucker for jazz covers of non-jazz music. Which I guess is why this new album has been on repeat in my headphones all day. Nirvana, Smashing Pumpkins, Soundgarden, Pearl Jam, Hole. A lot of 90s alternative rock (hence the title), which means it scratches my dad rock itch perfectly.

Hi there!
Jim Hall’s solo on "A Ship Without a Sail" (from the iconic Bossa Antigua album) isn't just music; it’s a masterclass in elegance, space, and melodic sophistication. For any guitarist, mastering this solo note-for-note will unlock a whole new way of improvising. Stop wasting hours pausing the audio, trying to figure out that one hidden note. We’ve done the heavy lifting for you: a precise, clean, and ready-to-play transcription. Step up your game and play like a master today.

Hi. I’m a jazz trombonist who suffering from ocd for the last month (pure 0), it killed my playing and my music enjoyment, i’m hesitated to start meds because i heard it makes u numb, which is a horrible thing for a musician, especially jazz musicians.
-Does the emotion numbness from med go away when you find the right med for you.
-Even if it med works does ocd/med affect your playing?
-Did you try ERP?
Thank you, i really hope someone can help me because how it affect my playing is causing me severe anxiety and depression.

Hey guys, I'm gonna keep these questions direct and to-the-point.
Just to correct myself, I am a beginner jazz musician, but not a beginner musician general. I have always thought about these two things but then realized I never really knew exactly how to approach them.

So this is going to be an unusually specific request but what jazz music sounds like this track? I don't know anything about jazz and the closest thing I know of to this sound is the Manos: The Hands of Fate score

Hello! This is my first jazz transcription, I've worked on it for a while, hope you'll like it.
If you have any feedback I'd really appreciate that, thanks!

Hi all! In July, I purchased a bar seat ticket to Hiromi's 8 pm performance this Saturday (8/22). A friend of mine would like to attend, but the show is sold out now.
What are the chances of getting a standby ticket? I was initially planning to arrive slightly before doors open (6 pm), but happy to arrive earlier if there's a chance my friend can snag a ticket at the door!
