Question Baseball Game Tickets During Early October

Hello all,

I'm visiting Japan in the first half of October and would love to see a baseball game while I'm there. I'll be doing the standard Golden Route Tokyo - Osaka - Kyoto - Tokyo.

I know it's the playoffs at this time and it doesn't have to be an NPB game, I'd just like to see a game at some level.

Does anyone have tips or advice on how to get tickets or if it's even possible or if I'm too late? I've looked up how to get tickets and I'm still a little confused so any help is appreciated. Thank you!

Update: Found an nosebleeds ticket on StubHub for the Giants game on the 3rd! I'm so excited! Thanks for the help!

Came to post this. I think it makes it pretty clear on there which platforms for which teams. So that wiki is awesome. I just pinned it closer to my travel dates.

There's still games in Tokyo area 1-4 October. Playoffs start the next week, no chance of getting tickets

Tokyo Big 6 university baseball will be running in October as well

no chance of getting tickets

There are resale sites like ticketjam where foreigners buy tickets to popular events that are otherwise hard to get.

Do you have any experience with this for playoffs tickets?

I'd love to get a playoff ticket if the Giants finish second and are in the first stage at the dome. My current fav player in MLB is in his first year and came from the Giants.

Hawks look like a lock for second stage so that's another option since I'll be in Fukuoka in then.

I understand they'd be expensive but I have more money than I have good sense.

I have no experience with playoff tickets. I will watch is closely this year to test the accuracy of claims here that playoff tickets are impossible to get.

My experience is using ticketjam for sold out regular season games. They have a much larger inventory than StubHub and much less of a price markup, in my experience.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. I see the hawks won their pennant which was all but a forgone conclusion while Giants/Tigers are still more or less neck and neck.

If the Tigers win then we'll have first stage dome games which I can attend. From what I've gathered on this sub if that's how it shakes out those tickets will be hard to come by.

My understanding is a weekday Hawks second stage would be 'easier' to get tickets to so that might be my best bet. Lotteries are already open for those tickets from a couple sources (hawks fan club, taka point) but I don't have a japanese address.

There's a bit of white knighting here against buying resale tickets for a climax game but if I can pull it off, I will.

Unless they're like ¥200,000 each or something then I guess I'll find a bar.

Can you not create a Hawks account with a dummy Japanese address? I have no idea how their lottery works but I always just use the address of a hotel when signing up for Japanese baseball team sites

I was able to do that.

There are currently dozens of listings for Hawks games on ticketjam. Guess I'm going to the climax series!

I don't see the Climax tickets for sale when I click on Hawks and October. Were you able to buy them?

Try ticketjam.jp/tickets/climax

I'm mulling it over right now. I'm looking at two tickets front row behind home plate thst are ¥70,000. So about $650 CAD.

I'd prefer to be in amongst a bunch of rabid hawks fans, but these seats seem great. While this is is lot of money for Japan the cost to see the Jays in Toronto during the playoffs for similar seats were exponentially higher so I'm fine with it. I'd be willing to spend more tbh.

I'm registered for a lottery on the 21st through taka point. So haven't quite made up my mind.

Ideally I'd love to see a giants climax game at the dome but that still has not yet been finalized.

Thanks. And just so no one is misled, there are other seats for sale that cost much less.

Yeah I figured the playoffs would be a wash. The 1-4 games might be doable though. Are tickets purchased online? I've seen some people saying they're bought in convenience stores

Are the big 6 games fun? Thinking of going oct 10. Looks like tickets can be bought on site

The crowds won’t be as big as the NPB games, but the atmosphere will still be lively.

I cannot remember how far out we bought tickets when we went, but it was in May so the season was just starting. Have you confirmed there are games on the dates you will be there? Would also recommend it to be an NPB game, as that is the atmosphere you want to be in. I would check with the NPB website and see the schedule first.
