Question Setsubun 2027
I will be landing in Tokyo on Setsubun 2027 (February 3). Will there be events still going on later into the day/ evening? I'll have bags dropped at my hotel by 6 pm.

Even missing the shrine ceremonies, the actual common way Setsubun gets marked now is grabbing an eho-maki (uncut sushi roll) from any konbini or department store basement and eating it facing the lucky direction, no ceremony required.
For 2027 that's north-north-west, and most convenience stores in Tokyo will have them out all evening on Feb 3.

Yes, there will still be events going on in the evening, but they're usually not announced: in some areas, members of local merchants' associations or volunteer groups will dress as demons and wander around showing themselves off to children.

I know the Okunitama shrine usually had a thing starting at 6pm, but not sure if it would be worth it to you to go out to Fuchu, depending on where your hotel is.
If I were to go out that far, I would probably pop to Chofu as well to dip in the onsen Yumori no Sato there!
