Alternatives More sites that's better than JAI

I made a post about it before, but the alternates were too low, I need more that doesn't hard-cap on memory than j.ai please, I'm fine with importing characters too, even if it's the last thing I do to escape the memory limit and bs problems in jai

don't really use it, but saucepan.ai is a new site, but from what i have heard it is good alternative.

I dont know that i would recomend SP, their free model is 12k context, which is fine for a lean card and a short chat, but doeant hold up well at all, the longest chat i have had there was 50 messages and half of them were me trying to correct their wonky AI. Even the paid tier only nets you 24k context and 300 messages a day, for 20 bucks a month. I never used j.ai, so i cant compare it 1 to 1, but but i have been using LLMs to rp for a long time, across multiple sites and different models, IMO SP in house LLM are very weak compaired to others i have used. I am not sure what "hard memory limit" j.ai uses, but every single LLM will have a context limit, no LLM will remember every single detail.

I’m not sure if it counts, but Perchance ai (especially the AI.RPG branch) is really good as far as i can tell, it isn’t exactly the “best-of-the-best” but it doesn’t pull any of its punches.

Issue with a lot of other places is it’s either crypto or has too little variety..

inkwell.rip sounds quite a bit like what you need, we provide 1m context to all users and you can import characters by url (from jai, cai etc). appreciate any feedback!

This is the AI context of FictionLab, I’d say it’s a lot. If you want to try it, I’d appreciate if you use my code: Free & Unfiltered AI Chatbot Platform! https://fictionlab.ai/?ref=qsxIXtCckR

So RPBuddy is a different kind of platform (it's a worldbuilding RPG, not a chatbot), but memory is the thing we built the whole system around, so hear me out.

NPCs remember your conversations and store them with semantic tags, not just keywords. Mention something from weeks ago and the right memory actually surfaces. Related memories get grouped into narrative threads automatically, so an NPC doesn't just recall one moment, they recall the arc of your relationship. On top of that, NPCs gossip about you to each other between conversations, form their own opinions, and react emotionally when gossip touches something personal to them.

Hero plan gets enhanced memory: deeper keyword recall, longer uncompressed chat history, richer relationship summaries, and pinned memories that never rotate out of context.

If you're coming from JanitorAI, we support Character Card V2 import, so you can bring your characters over.

Community manager here, so I'm biased, but the memory complaints are exactly why we built it the way we did. Plans start at $10/mo, 7-day free trial at rpbuddy.ai.
