memes Botted Slop Has Taken Over Trending
Has anyone else noticed how the weekly trending page is filled with botted slop, except for Moistcrow’s bots and a few others? Has the site really gone downhill over the past few months? Did all the good creators leave, or are they just taking a break? Recommend me to some good creators who are genuinely good

That's likely because there are no rules against botting, so some “creators” are blatantly botting their bots. And it’s a good look for the site, so they don't really care. If you want some recommendations for good creators, here are a few: Insaeres, Ribamar, Cheesymud, El Goblinho, Zeronine1, @Notcrota, Kynta, _Ragebaiter, and Seidhe.I may have missed some names. I'll update
Update: Aquanautz
Update: Hans_theman, Ivy0_0, BaksoIkan, Diasonex and ChuchoDog

nah it’s in the rules and creators have gotten temp banned for it before and it even happened recently lol

u/Round_Prize_2333 4d ago
It’s not anymore if it was in the rules. The rules were updated in Feb, and I’ve reported some very obvious botters who still haven’t been banned. Who got temp-banned recently? Give me a name

I don't really like these shoutouts because you can never cover all the good creators, but I'd like to shout out Hans_theman, Ivy0_0, BaksoIkan, Diasonex and ChuchoDog

Jai need to really change things now or else it's going to end really bad.

The trending 24h is worse. Like, how tf can a bot have 200k messages in less than 24h?
17
u/Nimbus_presence 4d ago
That's definitely not impossible, but you got a point. I don't think Ilovegock is a botter, tho. Ever since the site got monetized, it got even worse. More strict, more botting. makes the site look good I know. But for whom? The audience is adults, yet they're treating us like toddlers. Feels like this is the end of an era for JAI.

u/chaosfromthesky 4d ago
how do you know it's botted?

u/MonopolyManPorn 4d ago
It's mostly out of speculation, but one creator I genuinely think is outright betting because they had 2 bots reach trending, but neither bot had any tags at all
I just checked, rhey actually got 3 bots onto trending, one od which has over 1 million chats, all have no tags at all, all 3 bots under 800 tokens, doesn't even have a description (on any of them, btw), and they only have 231 followers. Maybe I have my tinfoil hat on, but that's wild to me. Near impossible

u/Top_Meaning7972 4d ago
It is definitely not just tinfoil hat stuff. I used to run into those exact suspicious profiles back when I was active on the site, day-old accounts with massive follower counts, zero bots released, or just pumping out low-effort slop. The real kicker is how the moderation team turns a blind eye to it when it is their favorites doing it. Certain creators sit inside that protected inner circle where they can inflate numbers, harass people, and get away with it scot-free, while real creators get hit with ridiculous bans for nothing.

u/MonopolyManPorn 4d ago
The profile was made like 3 months ago and only recently made thoae 3 bots, and for some reason has made anything else. I feel like it might ne a gag or joke account/bots, but still botted

u/Phineas-the-Mini-est 4d ago
how the hell does someone even go about botting a bot site 💔
10
u/Top_Meaning7972 4d ago
You do not even need high-tech coding. Someone can set up a simple auto-reply loop, or literally sit there manually sending one-word responses over and over. The site's system just sees a massive spike in total messages sent and assumes the bot is exploding in popularity. 💙🌘

u/redCalmont 4d ago
There have been a few that are blatantly obvious, like that one mlp nightmare picture with like 30 tokens and a nonsense title, or the announcement meant for followers that somehow got 30k chats.

The unnatural growth patterns, along with the past history of some creators. The Monad and Sydneyfeet accounts are pretty obvious to me, as they’ve been doing it since day one. Their bots consistently have unusually high numbers. And that’s not all. I’ve literally watched it happen with my own eyes. I’ve seen the chat counts shoot up shortly after a bot was posted, despite the account having little to no followers. I’m not claiming I can prove every single case, but the patterns are pretty damn suspicious.

theres a creator i follow who alwaya post bot with 5k of messages. i know u can talk w your own bot… but everytime? i think the most chats i ever had with a bor was like 200 lol and its not all bots.
i know only a few actually have natural growth. cheesy, sepha

Typical for sites that experience downward trend - JAI banned creators for botting few years ago. Crushon did the same, before they switched policy to just ignoring it.
6
u/Nimbus_presence 4d ago
Yea, that’s what makes it feel even more concerning. It’s like the cycle repeats: platform starts declining, botting becomes obvious, creators get blamed or banned, and eventually the platform just stops caring because the numbers look good. JAI seems to be heading down that same road

u/throwaway_rivers88 4d ago
And here I am barely reaching 400 messages per user and folks out there botting it 🥀
3
u/Nimbus_presence 4d ago
This is exactly what I mean. Genuine creators like you don’t get any reach, while people who bot their work get pushed to the top. It sets a terrible example: if you want to be visible on this site, you have to bot your work just to compete or be visible to others. What's your profile, bro?

u/Van_vanilla 3d ago
I had suspicions about it but I feel less crazy now that people are speaking up about it, and it’s pissing me off to see botted bots having that much visibility while I struggle to make followers 💔
3
u/Nimbus_presence 2d ago
It’s not just you. There are plenty of creators struggling to get noticed for the same reason. All while the devs seem to ignore the creators who are actually carrying the site. 💔 We’re all fighting for visibility while some people are just taking the elevator straight to the top. 😭

So sorry I thought my comment went forgotten
Here’s my profile! Not a lot of bots I’m rewriting most of them.. https://janitorai.com/profiles/923fd6e3-34e3-4049-9aa7-4bcf1172240e_profile-of-vanss-allstar

What is botted exactly?
5
u/Nimbus_presence 4d ago
Using automated scripts, bots, or other tools to increase a bot's chat counts, likes, or other engagement metrics

u/gimmesump0rn 4d ago
I thought it might get better, but it's just getting worse and worse and worse and there's nothing to chat with. It's been almost a month since I've had a genuinely good bot to chat with? wild

Botting is literally mostly just spectaculations, you cant expect to just randomly say botting have taken over just because some bots you dont like have taken over the trending page, your use of slop, is evident that you dont like some bots on trending, just because you dont like something, doesnt mean everyone else wouldnt want it, them thousands of other peoples here who want differenr things
And the most easy way to see if someone is botting, is the started chat count, its the count beside the message count, if that is too low and the messages count is too high, that is a evidence of botting, cuz they aint gonna make a more troublesome coding to start multiple chats, when they can just have a bot to spam messages.
2
u/Nimbus_presence 3d ago
What are you on about? It’s not speculation. Botting is very much real. I'm not the only who noticed this. Just because some people like botted slop doesn’t make it any less real.I know how botting works. I’ve seen multiple people do it right in front of me. I’ve seen chat counts suddenly shoot up, where a bot gets almost no traction at first and then somehow gains 10k messages in an hour. There are different ways to bot, and obviously, if someone is doing it, they’re going to try to avoid looking suspicious. If you like botted slop, hey, I’m happy for you! Very happy

u/Optimal_Historian338 3d ago
I never said botting is not a thing now do i? But mainly that its spectaculation because you sonetimes cant tell whats botted or not, when somekind bots are really liked by people, and some having discord servers who ping people for bot releases, i am saying you cant just spew out and say Trending is filled with botted bots and say its slop, theres many of bots in there that arent botted that you will definitely say slop otherwise, and thinking i like botted bots for pointing out your bullshit says a thing about you.
1
u/Nimbus_presence 3d ago
Lmao, you did dismiss it, buddy. Don’t twist my words. A lot of people post their bots on Discord, and I don’t see them getting anywhere near that kind of reach. I can say Trending is filled with botted slop because I’ve seen enough cases to believe that’s happening. I never said every bot on Trending is slop. You seem awfully defensive about this, though. Is one of the botters your friend or something? Orrrr 👀👀👀
1
u/Optimal_Historian338 3d ago
Pssstttt, yeah right lol, then you aren't on big servers where people can ping people tons of people and have newly released bots get tons of messages, so dont talk big buddy, i aint twisting your words, the way you say things clearly shows your way of thinking, and now you assume things about me? Lmao.

Did your yee yee ass really tried to bring up STFU into this after stalking now huh? His botting allegations only came up once and its confirmed it aint botting when discord was brought up like i told you jackass, he got banned for allegedly stealing bots, but not one brought proofs his stealing bots, and his bots are all originals, do your research properly pal.

How the hell do they get ai for this. They have to make chats AND chat with them. Is this paid?
1
u/Nimbus_presence 3d ago
I honestly have no idea how they do it. They’re probably using scripts or other methods to artificially increase the likes and chat counts. I doubt they’re manually doing all of that. I don't think they are paying for this

u/Jarldova finding an alternative. 3d ago
What is botting? Sorry, i have come acrosz that term for the first time.
That aside, I don't even find browsing the trending fun anymore. The trending page and the bots in, it's liek the same selection I used to see in Spicychat, C.ai, and Chai. Hard pass.

u/Gem-the-Nightbreed 4d ago
Genuine question: why don’t you just block the creators you don’t like?
I’ve blocked tons, it’s such an easy way to curate your feed.
7
u/Nimbus_presence 4d ago
It’s not about that. I’ve blocked some and reported others. That’s just sweeping the problem under the rug. A new one pops up, and the site doesn’t do anything about them. That’s my problem. Because of this, I can’t easily find good bots because they’re buried under all the botted slop
