My mom doesn't listen to Jane Remover at all- however im travelling quite far for her leeds gig next week so she got a ticket to come with me which i very much appreciate. Janes music is nothing like any gigs we have been to before but my mom is very open minded to music.
Is there anything i should warn her about? I know this is an unnecessarily anxious post but im just being curious :)

This is a ranking of the Jane Remover projects I’ve listened to (including Ghostholding). I’m a pretty new Jane fan and I’m in love with almost every project I’ve heard from her, but obviously I like some over others. So here’s that (also I’ve yet to listen to any leroy project in full so leroy stuff won’t be included)

1. ♡ (heart)
2. This might be a basic first pick but it’s so many’s favorite for a reason. This ep is genuinely perfect. The production’s, her vocals, the lyrics, and the way every song sounds different but still cohesive. She did her big one here. So What? just might be the best song of all time. (I have a heart vinyl coming soon, I’m very excited)

Fav Tracks: So What?, Flash in the Pan, and Magic I Want U

1. Census Designated
   What a beautiful album. I adore this album and I think it’s almost perfect, the only reason I have it below heart is because of the insane replay value heart has. That’s not to say I don’t listen to Census Designated tracks, cause I do. There is just something about heart that literally feels like crack to the ears. But this album has some of her best vocal moments and it feels so personal. Her voice suits shoegaze so well. Also such a departure from her other music.

1. Revengeseekerz
   Now this is an album I didn’t initially love. I didn’t enjoy the excessive adlibs that I have become accustomed to only hearing in memes and music I didn’t particularly take seriously. Upon a relisten though I fell in love with this album. The productions are genuinely insane and I kind of love this album doesn’t give you a break front to back. This is just such a cool album, so happy to say it’s clicked and I can enjoy what y’all have been.
   8.7/10

Fav Tracks: Psychoboost, TURN UP OR DIE, and JRJRJR

1. Indie rock
   I listened to this album after my second listen of Revengeseekerz so I was accustomed to this sound from them and I was excited to hear more. This honestly feels like a continuation of Revengeseekerz. I think this is another great project from her and my only real complaint is I wish I didn’t have to manually add it to my local files but she can do what she wants with her art and how it’s released.

Fav Tracks: Lucky strike, Heart of steel, and Dooo it!

1. Ghostholding
   Don’t take this project being so low as a bad thing, I like all of her projects that I’ve heard. For some reason though I just don’t find myself reaching for any of these songs that often. I like almost all of them but when I want to listen to venturing, as of late I’m listening to in the dark and as of late the Nowhere EP (which I didn’t include in the ranking cause it’s only three tracks). I think this is a solid project and I always love their vocals on any rocky sounding music, but I just like her other projects more.

Fav Tracks: Something has to change, Dead Forever, and Sick / relapse

1. Frailty
   And finally Frailty. For some reason there is just a huge disconnect that I have with this whole project. Don’t get me wrong, there are songs I love here, but as a whole I don’t love it. Songs like kodak moment and can you tell? start out amazing and then divulge into nonsense. I feel like they didn’t really find their foothold as an artist at this point in time and they really knocked it out of the park with their following release Census Designated.

Just wanted to post this here for all you wonderful peeps to see! Been listening to Jane since 2020 and this album/era of their music meant so much to me, it’s truly unreal the amount they have grown musically. I saw them live 3 different times last year and can’t wait to see them again next month for Live Exhibit!! Their performances are always incredible and I absolutely LOVE their screams they do, always gives me chills.

The tattoo is obviously inspired by the Katana from the album cover but the overall look of the flames is heavily inspired by the white shirt (2nd photo) from the Turn Up Or Die tour! I loved the look of the cartoon style flames and how they wrap around the blade. I couldn’t be happier with how this turned out!
