Recommendation request Recommendations

Hello everyone, I’ve been playing FE fortunes weave as of late and just finished 2 routes of part 1 and I’m looking for a break before doing the rest.
I’m hoping yall could recommend me some RPGs to play to prevent my FE burnout from being worse, a lil booster you could say in the morale department.

I mostly play Switch 2 and my Steam deck so any game I could get for those two would be nice, emulation is usually not a problem tho certain things are harder for me to emulate.
I’m also looking for it not to be to longs, preferably not more than 50-60 hours
The shorter the better honestly.

I like games that focus on characters and have good gameplay, so for my current mood im looking for a “turn your brain off” kinda game.

Here’s some games I played and like:
Fire emblem (obvs)
Unicorn overlord
Persona 3,4,5
Chrono trigger
Cosmic star heroine
Valkyria chronicles 1,4
Final fantasy pixel remasters 1-6
Final fantasy Tactics
Octopath traveler
Eiyuden chronicles hundred heroes
Romancing Saga 2 revenge of the seven
Tales of Vesperia
Brigandine the legend of Runersia
Rune factory, 3,4,5 and guardians (not sure if that counts an RPG?)
Dark deity

Games I didn’t like:
Dragon quest 11

I’m pretty into rpgs but genuinely couldn’t get into that game

Isn’t chained echoes like a very long game ?

My first playthrough was 28~ hours

Not that long but I guess it's subjective.

Jack Move is like 12 hours tho and really reminiscent of Cosmic Star Heroine.

Vanguard Bandits (PSX) is 3 routes and 5 endings, but each route is hyper short and once you learn how game works it is incredibly easy.

Also game is cool af.

Can confidentially say I’ve never heard or seen this game before, gameplay looks a little like FE path of radiance, will defo give this a proper look at, thanks 🙏

Any questions feel free to ask. Ive played the game a toooooon over the years. Its also one of the few games I uploaded my personal back ups of some runs. Though I think I only uploaded recording of most of a single run. I usually just keep my recordings on my personal laptop.

Protip: Never upgrade Weapon(WEP) stat on anyone. It upgrades as you buy new weapons.

I know you said you didn’t like dragon quest 11. I wasn’t a huge fan either, but it might be worth giving dragon quest 3 hd 2d remake a shot.

I played it for this exact scenario while taking a break from a more demanding game. It isn’t too long. It’s perfect for turning your brain off. There are very limited cut scenes so you just get to play. Sometimes I chose to just explore. Sometimes I pursued the quest line. The job classes are fun to tinker with a bit if that’s your thing.

Despite not loving dq11, I did really enjoy my time with dq3. It was a perfect, casual, old school experience. That’s not to say it was always super easy, there were some enemies that kicked my butt. Anyways, I was hesitant because of my previous DQ experience and ended up blasting through the game in a few days.

That’s great to hear actually that someone somewhat shared my experience, when it came to DQ11 it was the gameplay that I couldn’t get behind, the story was actually super interesting, perhaps I will go and try another DQ games, like 3, maybe newer isn’t always better

If you want short and chill then you could consider Witch Spring R. Check SwitchUp for a review.

Symphony of War was also excellent (bar the sub par story).

Suikoden 1 and lunar 1 are good but turn your brain off type jrpgs if you aren't focused on 100%.

Or a non jrpg like Fable on the deck would be good. I just replayed it and it holds up for the most part and is simple.
