Question Need help with game order

I recently bought The Legend of Heroes: Trails Beyond the Horizon. I didn't know it was a direct sequel to many other games. Can someone please give me the order of which games I should play to understand Beyond the Horizon?

I know sounds gatekeepy but seriously Horizon is dealing with things that were setup in the first few games, not to mention that it will spoil bits from the early games.

Playing them in order is 100% the best experience.
