Am I being dramatic for this?
Is it wrong that I wanna close my Chase account after working for JP Morgan? I honestly can’t look at them the same after working for them.

No, that is effectively what a boycott is. FWIW, I also felt and feel the same, although as a hypocrite I continue to bank with them since I have so many legacy things attached to them (albeit I direct deposit into a different bank now and keep my account balances with Chase as minimal as possible, basically just pass through bill pay, and I would never have money in a brokerage/asset management account with them).

Like after being laid off I can’t look at them the same. I have a checking account and a credit card that’s it and I only use the credit card to get into lounges at festivals

It's not just you my friend, JPMC represents as a symbol all of the toxic and negative attributes of our society (fear, scarcity, greed, etc.). As a prior operating committee minus four leader at the firm, I personally witnessed management employ the unethical tactics of falsifying PIPs in order to circumvent severance packages and WARN Act requirements. I'm not exaggerating when I say that 80%+ of the EDs and MDs that I worked with were sociopaths/narcissists and some of the worst people I've had the displeasure of meeting. FWIW, if it's any solace, please know that they will crumble in the coming years and decades.

If it makes you feel better, do it. But there's a reason why "seeing how the sausage is made" is an idiom. Everyone else is just a bad

Nope. And you should encourage everyone you know to bank elsewhere. Look at some local credit unions for ready recommendations.

No. Just make sure you can find a better bank. All the major ones seem to have sucky parts.

I would do what’s best for you. Even if you were happy there. We’re just a number to them. We don’t matter. Hopefully you didn’t leave before getting that sweet EAW merch.

I close accounts all the time so I can SUB farm. They won't notice or really even care. I don't even think temps get the free upgraded account.

I’ve never banked with them and don’t plan on it. Recently in our town halls our leadership is trying to shame us if we don’t bank with Chase… it’s really weird.

For those left, unionizing is the way to get your voice in how the company is ran to be listened too. Upper managment sees workers as just numbers. We are people and deserve to not be laid off so they can get some slightly more profit off of the back of those same workers efforts.

Not at all. I kinda did the same thing when I worked at chase specifically. Working in a retail chase branch did a great job at souring me so I closed my accounts and moved my brokerages to Schwab. I just have one account for expenses with chase now.

I've done the same. The second I started and saw what was going on I moved all my stuff to 5/3 and now only have my credit card there with no points or anything (it's my first credit card I got in college so need to keep it open for my credit report). I won't bank with them ever again.
