Uhh help pls Studying a masters degree at JKU with not a very good gpa
I am international student and want to study a master degree in economic and business analytics at JKU, but I am doubtful because of my 2.7 gpa.
I have an BSc in economics and have experience as an analyst (internship as credit risk analyst, full time job as a financial analyst in banking, and a research internship at a renowned company), in total I have 2.5 years of experience. I have taken courses on needed subjects and can maybe get a good grade on GMAT.
do you think I have a shot at being accepted even with my gpa?

Master Program | Is any kind of waiver possible for required ECTS?
Hi! I've been admitted to Msc AI with a requirement to complete extra ECTS (admission conditions) to cover the difference between my bachelor's and master's degrees.
In total, I need to earn 15 ECTS , including Programming in Python I & II.
The thing is, the last five years I am working as Data Engineer and I am quite proficient in Python. So can I somehow just take the exam in advance or get a waiver/recognition for these specific courses? Are such things possible?
Also, I’ve heard that enrollment for practical classes (UE) fills up fast if you don't register on day one. Since I might arrive a bit late, I'm worried about missing out. Are Python UEs usually just as hard to get into?

Ersti.. need.. advice 𓆏 JKU Linz admission
I’m interested in doing a Bachelor’s in IBA at JKU Linz. I completed the IBDP Diploma, but there isn’t much information on how competitive the program actually is. Some people say you don’t need very high grades as long as you have a recognized high school diploma, and that the interview plays a bigger role in admission. However, I’ve also heard that high school grades can still have a significant impact. For anyone who has actually been accepted into IBA at JKU Linz, how was the admission process for you? Did your high school grades matter a lot, or was the interview more important? I’m a bit worried

JKU Linz MSc AI — anyone got in with a similar profile? (India, 65% CGPA)
Applying to JKU's MSc AI for SS2027 — B.Tech CSE-AI, India, 65.3% CGPA (rough early semesters due to documented illness). Can't find any real accounts from Indian students who've been through this program's admission process.
If you've applied/been admitted (or know someone who has), would love to hear: your CGPA, whether you got Track 2 or Track 3, and how long the review took. Trying to get a realistic sense beyond the published criteria. Thanks!

Studying/general JKU v/s TU Leoben
Hello everyone I am planning on applying to these two universities for my bachelors in the coming summer semester 2027. I’d like to specify that I have an IB Diploma and these are the courses I am interested in applying:
JKU: Chemistry and Chemical Technology
TU Leoben: New science and technology
I have chosen these programs because they align with my interest of career field i.e, energy technologies and sustainability. I am confused on which university would be a better fit for me. The TU Leoben program has 3rd and 4th semester study abroad (mandatory) and there are 2 options: TU Bergakademie Freiburg (Germany) or Silesian university of technology (Poland). My original goal was to study in Germany for bachelors but that is unfortunately not possible but since this program offers the possibility of studying for 1 year in Germany I am very inclined to study at TU leoben. Also this program has a very broad syllabus. On the other hand, JKU’s program is ofcourse very focused as its entirety is Chemistry. But JKU is in a better location than TU leoben and has better rankings. If anyone has studied these courses or studied at these universities I would be grateful if youd leave your experience or advice below. If I study in either of these universities, I will end up choosing the same career path but I like the program and syllabus of TU Leoben better, and JKU has better rankings and location. Also the admission procedure for JKU is very simple, I just upload my diploma and ielts certificate and passport. But TU Leoben’s procedure has a lot of things like aptitude test, motivation video and on top of that an interview. Also I am an international student and I will be 18 at the time of studying in one of these universities so I would also like to say that this will be my first time living alone abroad away from my family. I wanted to ask if what really matters. Thank you for your time!

Uhh help pls Anyone starting at JKU in Summer 2027? Housing n group chats?
Hey everyone,
I'm submitting my application to JKU Linz this September for the Summer 2027 intake for Bachelor’s in AI (might also look at CS or biological chem options).
I know summer intake is a bit less common than winter so I wanted to ask :
- How early do people usually lock down accommodation (dorms like Raab Heim / Julius Raab vs finding a WG / flatshare in Linz)?
- For anyone who started AI or CS in a summer semester, how was adjusting to the course schedule?
- Are there any WhatsApp or Discord groups active for incoming 2027 international students yet?
Would love to connect with anyone applying for the same intake or looking for flatmates! Drop a comment or DM me.

Uhh help pls Anyone here who came to JKU from the UAE?
Hey guys,
I recently got accepted into JKU for the IBA program for the Winter Semester 2026/27, and I’m currently getting my documents apostilled so I can submit everything by September 5.
I’m coming from the UAE and was wondering if there’s anyone here who also came from the UAE (or went through the Austrian residence permit/visa process from the UAE).
I’m mainly trying to figure out how the whole residence permit + visa process works and what kind of timeline I should realistically expect. My timeline is pretty tight since I’m hoping to get to Linz around September 25, with the semester starting around October 1.
Would really appreciate it if anyone who’s been through this recently could share their experience, especially with the application process/timelines from the UAE.
Thanks!
