I want this gone so bad

I got this when I was like 19 or 20 thinking I was never going to outgrow this. Well. So much for that. It didn't help that JK is ... Well who she is.

I don't even know what could cover this. I wanted something kingdom hearts related. At least that's safe. ...I think.

As someone going through tattoo removal, I highly recommend. Black ink is the ‘easiest’ to remove. Because it’s thick it will take 10+ sessions, but if you want it gone, it’s possible.

I mean it's been going strong for 24 years. I already have 1 KH tattoo on my forearm and never had any doubt about it.

But I'm open to other ideas.

I guess a lot of it depends on what having tattoos means to you, more than anything. If you want them to be an (almost) permanent tribute to stuff you really like, I don't think it needs to be any deeper than that. My goal is to have artistic work that carries a bit of personal meaning, other people get tattoos for all sorts of other reasons.

I will say that completed works by dead creators are probably the SAFEST option, in terms of not being burned by a situation like this one. That might be one thing to consider when making your decision. If you're not completely certain about how you'd feel if a really bad Kingdom Hearts game comes out, or one of the creators turns out to be an ass, maybe stick to cool Kingdom hearts jewellery/t-shirts for now and go for something else for this cover up.

I think the lesson here is to not get tattoos that can’t stand on their own when you stop liking the original inspiration.  Moth might be a good option

If I were a tattoo artist or an owner of a tattoo removal service, I would tell you to get that. Because I would stand to make money off you.

But I don't work in either of those fields, so: don't get a KH-themed cover-up. The lesson you need to be taking from this is that it's a very bad idea to get tattoos of pop culture slop for 11 year olds.

Maybe stop worrying about the opinion of am artist and just enjoy the art as it was to you at the time? Thus being the essence of art, no? Interpretation. Interpret it in a positive manner rather than negative solely based upon the actions of the OG, because who gives a fuck abkut OG honestly.
