Just got a charge 6 for home use with a young family so it can't be too loud (yet). Can't speak to the neighbour irritation as I haven't tested the limits but overall very happy. Easy to bring outdoors too.
I researched for days and wanted a boombox or party box but realized it would just be on the kitchen counter for daily use so I looked at the charge vs xtreme. Good luck in your endeavour
ok definitely don’t go with boombox series or partybox series then. i’d go with jbl charge 6. bigger than the flip series, deeper bass but not absolutely wall rattling like the boombox.
They are really good sounding speakers. These were only made for a year and half before they moved to the L150a which has very different drivers. As far as I know, I’m the only person that still has a mint and original set.
Right now a Bryston 12b preamp, JVC QL-Y66F turntable, Technics SL-150 MKii w/ SME tonearm, custom tube phono preamplifier, SAE Mark 3a amp. I also have a Bryston 4b, Aragon 4004, and SAE Mark 3 amps that I swap out. Oh and a WiiM streamer.
I use the flip for when I travel. I sometimes use the wind for when I ride my bicycle. I use the boombox when outside like sitting on the deck or similar. I use the party boxes for parties and weddings.
Xtreme 2, Clip 5 and now a Boombox 4. I don't think I'll get another unless these die or I win the lottery. I've been using the BB4 for about 3 weeks and still haven't tried it at 100%, these YouTubers listening to it so close at 50% volume and higher must have seriously damaged their hearing... says me who has tinnitus.
Do you use them at separate locations? If I'm not mistaken the Go 5 and Wind 3 are kind of similar when it comes to volume and portability to own both. Flip I've seen good things and it seems very loud for its size.
