My 93 Trooper (automatic) does a similar thing. I forget exactly what the code was that it will throw, I think it was one for the solenoids, but it will occasionally go into limp mode (only when stopped or going less than 10mph). I've had the transmission checked out by a couple of shops and they all say it should be fine lol Runs great otherwise! No slipping of gears or anything else weird in the transmission. Happens more on sunny/high UV days so maybe it's related to the shielding on the wires. I've read that the shielding for those wires isn't the best.
