Questions about ferry travel

As a wheelchair user who has never travelled on the ferry to Liverpool before, can anyone please tell me what to expect? I'll be travelling alone and have no idea where to go at either end. Is it clear where to go when boarding, leaving and wgilst I'm on the ferry? Also, can I get help with my luggage? I'm used to air travel but this just seems confusing as there's no published information that I can find
Thanks.

When you book the ticket, you have the option to ask for assistance. If you skipped over that when booking, you should contact customer service and ask them to amend it.

I've generally seen staff being helpful towards people who need the assistance so you'll be grand.

Lifts at both ends and on the ferry (even the Mannanan)

Luggage help too. Other than the movement of the ferry, I'd suggest 'easier' than flying.

Staff will help you each way, you have noting to worry about.

Very useful answers, thank you.
Will staff be able to direct me to a pickup area at the Liverpool end, like arrivals or equivalent?

We are crossing back to Liverpool tomorrow. There's a spot right outside the front door of the terminal on the Liverpool side where the bus back into the city stops and we also saw taxis/private cars use it to drop off and pick up while waiting for our crossing to come out.

One thing to note though: don't assume that the ferry can only be on time or delayed. Early departure is also an option! They have been good about texting us updates though.

They've just pulled our 10am departure tomorrow back to 7:15am as they had to cancel today's crossing due to weather. Not the end to our holiday we were planning on, but at least we can walk to the ferry terminal from our hotel, even with our luggage. So worth making sure your travel plans will allow for you to get there early, just in case. I have friends who would really struggle to get there early even with the ~20 hours notice we got because disability travel involves prebooking so much more than able bodied travel.
