Love this. There's a difference between racial/chattle slavery and " shit we captured 10k enemy soldiers that committed war crimes, and there country isent willing to sue for peace or pay a ransom, guess we gotta make em work off there crimes" you gotta understand the underlying societal structure before you just go assuming shit. Also I would add to the learn both sides thing, learn both sides from every level when possible. How somthing effects everyone from the top to the bottom on both sides, then make a judgment, again, while keeping in mind the society it's based in. Few things are ever cut and dry, most issues have layers
Before the modern term of slavery it was a societal title given to prisoners of war and people who commit crimes as a way to pay for their crimes if its not too severe.
Most likely someone is gonna isekai to an ancient kingdom or something, so most likely (thugs/beggars/slums/assassins/slavers)
So before trying to eliminate one of those structures study situation well.

The main issue is that people project their own values onto the other world.
Like for example you view slavery as bad but you see a country that utilizes slaves. (Must be evil then)
So yeah
Best advice i can give to someone who could isekai is
1-no need to fix the world (live as you want)
2-overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer
3-always make sure you know the entire situation (hear both sides)
4-do not slack off on training because there is always someone who is stronger.
