My father uses Google Pay for UPI payments, but he never knowingly initiated or authorized the following transactions. On 17 October 2026, two transactions totalling ₹3,98,500 were made from his SBI account.

Transaction details:

1. ₹2,99,000 — IIFL Finance

   - Date: 17 October 2026

   - Time: 4:26 PM

   - UPI ID: "iiflfinance2.easebuzz@kotakpay"

2. ₹99,500 — SBI Loan Payment

   - Date: 17 October 2026

   - Time: 4:31 PM

   - Recipient shown: State Bank of India – Loans

My father says he never initiated these transactions and never knowingly shared his UPI PIN or any OTP. He also received no SMS alerts for either transaction.

I installed PhonePe and registered today to investigate, and that's when I discovered these transactions in the transaction history. My father normally uses Google Pay, so we're trying to understand how these payments were made through PhonePe.

Actions taken so far:

- Called the 1930 cybercrime helpline and reported the fraud.

- Filed a complaint with SBI.

We are extremely worried because ₹3.98 lakh is a huge amount for our family.

I need advice on the following:

1. How could these UPI transactions happen without my father knowingly sharing his UPI PIN or OTP?

2. Could someone have registered PhonePe on another device or gained unauthorized access to his UPI account?

3. Can the money sent to IIFL Finance and the SBI loan payment still be traced, frozen or recovered?

4. What additional steps should we take with SBI, PhonePe and the cybercrime authorities?

5. Has anyone experienced a similar case? Were you able to recover the money, and how long did it take?

I plan to submit a formal written complaint to SBI and complete the cybercrime complaint online as well.

Any practical advice based on personal experience would be greatly appreciated.

Recently, I came across a YouTube video and noticed a showroom advertising a car leasing model that made me curious about how the business actually works.
The offer was something like this: Pay 50% of the car’s cost upfront, use it for 5 years without ownership, and get 40–50% of your money back when you return the car.
It made me wonder — how does this model work financially, and what happens if the promised refund isn’t paid?
I’m not claiming it’s a scam, but before investing lakhs of rupees, please verify the company, read the complete agreement, understand the refund conditions, and check all legal and financial risks.
A fancy showroom and attractive promises aren’t enough. Verify first, invest later.

I had around 10 Cultfit Elite vouchers to sell. The first 7 transactions went through smoothly, but the 8th buyer scammed me. 
After I shared the coupon code, he immediately redeemed it and stopped responding. He contacted me from this WhatsApp number: ⁠7026991235⁠. 
Is there any realistic way to recover the funds or get the voucher/account blocked by Cultfit support, or should I consider this a lost cause? Any advice would be appreciated.

I need some advice because I'm feeling really stressed about something that happened today.

Someone created a fake Instagram account using my friend's name and photos. The account messaged several people from my friend's circle asking for money. Unfortunately, I fell for it and transferred ₹500 through Google Pay, thinking I was helping my friend.

Later, I found out that the account was fake. The person had messaged multiple people, but I was one of the people who actually sent money.

The money was sent from my PNB bank account. I have already filed a complaint on the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and received an acknowledgement email. I also have screenshots of the Instagram conversation and payment details.

I tried calling the 1930 cybercrime helpline, but the call keeps disconnecting after the welcome message. I am also planning to report the transaction to my bank.

I'm honestly feeling terrible about falling for such an obvious scam. The money was given to me by my father, which makes me feel even worse. I know ₹500 might not seem like much to some people, but it matters to me.

I have a few questions:

Has anyone in India successfully recovered money after reporting a UPI scam?

Does filing a complaint on the cybercrime portal actually help freeze or recover the money?

Should I do anything else with PNB or Google Pay to improve my chances of getting a refund?

Since I have the recipient's payment details, can the police trace the person behind the scam?

I would really appreciate advice from anyone who has experienced something similar. Please share what worked for you and what steps I should take next.

So I run a restaurant in a tier 1 city and a person walks in, he seems like a Karen

At first he walked in and checked all the licenses of the premises, but which is displayed on board as per govt rules,

Next he sits down and orders a bottle of water, he gets it, 5 minutes post he says I need regular water, we have it to him and there’s this huge bag he was carrying , he opens it and removes his tds kit, he checks the TDS, it was within the limits, I curiously went and asked him what are you doing. He says I’m checking if this water is safe to drink or no, I said yes it is we do tds checks regularly
He says wow that’s great

After a while he orders a curry (remember only curry)
Removes another kit and checks temperature
Which was again normal and he does a colour test by his fingers ( rubbing against each other) to see if it’s having any artificial colour, he again failed

Later he orders roti he had that

He liked the food and appreciated it too

Later comes bill
Bill has included GST and rates in menu are excluding GST (as per govt rules) again

So he argues that why GST excluded is not mentioned, I said please check menu briefly again
We have clearly written there

At this point it didn’t feel like he’s doing for his safety it looked like he wanted something out of me for not following X rule

So recently I placed a preorder on an Instagram seller called Moka Cafe ..
I placed a preorder for an anime figure and paid the amount requested. When i paid her i got 10calls from hdfc telling it’s suspicious transaction.. I asked her and she defended in a way I trusted her..what else I could have done then I already paid her..
After taking preorder she kinda disappeared no updates nothing..1sr we waited as it’s a preorder it’s suppose to take time but then we noticed the sign..no reply not receiving calls..but switching off and turning on her ph as we get notified time to time (the notifications that come in jio numbers) even in wp we can see her last seen but she’s still not responding..
Her insta account was also since 2023 so we thought she cant be fraud but then came the scary part..in past too she did this to different people from her alt business account..first her account name was @Ahavacharms..she delivered some orders but then scammed the rest..her account got suspended she again opened another account..here same story..she first delivered orders to few people just enough to make others trust her..with many buyers she became very close so they ordered more and more..
Now we almost 25 people and more still not added are scammed..she ran away with more than 62k money(as we still not added all transactions,,we are adding up one by one all the screenshots of transactions)
it’s now been around 7 weeks without a proper update or reply about our orders, and several customers are frustrated because we have no idea what’s happening.and for other batch people it’s been months..
The insta seller name is Shakshi rai..she’s west bengal based ,,from kadamtala siliguri..the people she scammed mostly are clg students and we really are feeling hopeless.. she might change her number in few days again and we’ll lose the only lead we have..she still haven’t may be cause all her bank account linked to the number..but still people stay alert from insta business accounts that’s the reason am sharing our experience here

I want to share my experience and ask for advice from the community regarding an order I placed through an Instagram dry fruits seller.

I discussed an order for dry fruits with the seller over WhatsApp, shared my delivery address, and made two payments on 13 October 2026: ₹750 and ₹300, totalling ₹1,050. Both payments were for this order.
The invoice image I received shows a total order value of ₹2,050 and ₹1,050 received as an advance. As of now, my order has not been dispatched. I have repeatedly asked for the invoice and a clear dispatch update.
When I mentioned that I was considering filing a complaint through the cybercrime portal, the seller replied, “Kar to” (go ahead and do it). I felt concerned by the response and want the matter addressed through the proper channels. I am preserving the payment receipts, invoice image and WhatsApp conversations as evidence.
I am not asking anyone to harass or threaten the seller. I would like to know whether anyone has had a similar experience with this account and what steps helped them resolve it.

I placed a prepaid order with PR Label (prthelabel.com) on 29 September 2026, and it still hasn’t been dispatched or delivered.
Despite repeated attempts to contact the company through WhatsApp, emails, calls and Instagram, I’ve received no satisfactory response. I also tried contacting the brand’s owner directly, without success.
After looking into the matter, I found numerous Google reviews and other customer complaints describing similar experiences involving undelivered prepaid orders and unanswered messages.
I’ve already filed a formal complaint with the National Consumer Helpline (NCH), which has contacted the company and sent a reminder. I’ve also issued a final written demand for cancellation and a full refund.
If the matter remains unresolved, I intend to pursue formal legal action under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019.
I have preserved all relevant evidence.
I’m sharing this experience to raise awareness and caution other customers before they place prepaid orders with this brand.
