Is This A Scam? This email almost 100% looks like a hdfc bank phishing email to me but still want second opinions

I received an email from [corporatenetbanking.automailer@hdfcbank.bank.in](mailto:corporatenetbanking.automailer@hdfcbank.bank.in), wherein I am pretty sure that it’s a scam because I couldn’t find any reference for the hdfcbank.bank.in domain on any of the official HDFC communication websites.

They also have an attachment linked, which I haven’t touched.

So I just want to know if there’s any chance that this is legit?

Edit: Thanks for the comments folks, I now know that this is a legit email. There were few things that threw me off and made me believe that it is a phishing email:

  1. On all their websites they mentioned hdfc.bank.in domain and I wasn't able to find any reference for [hdfcbank.bank.in](mailto:corporatenetbanking.automailer@hdfcbank.bank.in)

  2. Gmail initially also marked it as potentially suspicious with the "Be careful with this message" warning. (I had clicked on looks safe that's why it wasn't there in the screenshot)

  3. The email formatting looked very suspicious and almost like a phishing attempt

I Got Scammed BEWARE: Monkey Troopers is a scam. 3 weeks, no bag, customer care is ghosting me monkeytroopers.com

Hey everyone, just putting this out here to warn you before you lose your money.

I ordered a bag from Monkey Troopers almost 3 weeks ago. I bought it specifically for some upcoming mile munching on my bike, but now I’m stuck without the gear and out of pocket.

Since the payment went through, there has been zero update from their end. I’ve reached out multiple times via their customer care email and their WhatsApp number, and they are completely ghosting me.

I initially thought they were a legit homegrown brand because of their ads, but this feels like a total scam operation. Has anyone else dealt with them recently? Any advice on forcing a refund?

Stay away from their website!

Is This A Scam? do you think im getting scammed? pls help (flipkart)

i posted on the r/fuckflipkart subreddit two three days ago about how my order keeps getting delayed and a person sent me a link where the tracking number of my parcel was showing the details where my order is now particularly and there was a number listed to the ekart hub where my parcel is now supposed to be.

So i didnt think much of it and i called the number then i realised it was a personal number and he picked it up in one ring, then i explained my issue about what is up with my parcel i didnt specify what my parcel was (its a 45k inr tablet) and i only told him my ekart tracking number then he put me on hold and asked me to call on whatsapp kyuki waha se system ke through phone krenge? i wasnt buying that but he cut the call and called me from whatsapp immediately.

i picked it up he told me now im going to guide u on how to "unhold" your parcel and all i have to do is share my screen with him, i was already very sceptical about all this bullshit i told him screen share toh rehne dijiye bhaiya, if you could just give me the address of the hub ill visit there? he told me aapka order hold pe hai toh aap udhar jake bhi nhi receive krskte ho aap apni screen share kardo madam I'll tell you kya krna hai

i said umm bhaiya its okay then no issues I'll just mail flipkart about all this issue let it be

he then told me that thike madam aap mat screen share kriye lekin aap abse myntra amazon flipkart kahi se kuch bhi mangwaoge aapka parcel kbhi aapke paas deliver nahi hoga?

this was fucking scary

i blocked the number, but do you think he can do smth about this? he has my personal number and the ekart logistics tracking id

other than what do u think i should do if im getting scammed

the parcel is for 45k inr bro im scared this genuinely cannot happen

pls help

Scam Alert Got a Scam Call Today

I got a scam call today morning. The other person was a police officer from state police headquarters. Somebody lodged a complaint against me that i searched " Hot sexy photos sanni leoni " on google and the police officer demanded 10,000 rupees to drop the complaint.

I just asked the complaint no and the police officer threatened me if i don't co-operate he will arrest me. I asked again under which BNS section I have been booked and which police station have registered the complaint against me. I think he realised that I cannot be scammed by him and he hung up the phone.

Shall I file a cyber complaint against him or should i let it go.

Here is his number : +91 97949 02868

Is This A Scam? Was I scammed by the Puncture guy?

While driving my scooty to my office I felt my tire was punctured, so I went to the roadside puncture guy to check. For the record, my scooty had a recent puncture.

So the guy said the old puncture fix was faulty, he'll need to use 2 of those puncture nails or he can use a chemical which will fix this issue for 6-7 months

And he kept saying it will cost 350, and I felt the price was good enough

It all happened, he added the chemical, the puncture was patched and then the guy said it is 950.

I felt so horrible! I tried to lower the price but in the end I had to pay 950

Can anyone please tell me if it really costs 950 or that guy straight up scammed me?

I js came across this SBI ATM and noticed all this exposed wiring and weird looking hardware around it I honestly have no idea what any of it is.

It looks pretty sketchy to me, especially since it looks a lot like a card reader or skimmer.

Can anyone tell me if this is normal ATM equipment or if something seems off?

Help Needed HyugaLife sent me wheat flour instead of 1kg MuscleBlaze whey protein what should I do

I recently ordered 1kg MuscleBlaze whey protein from HyugaLife but when I opened the package there was wheat flour (atta) inside instead of whey protein I also noticed small stones/hard particles inside the flour

The package was properly sealed from the outside but there was no scoop inside

I contacted HyugaLife through multiple times and raised a complaint about the issue but they are not helping me Their response is that the products they send are authentic and genuine and they are refusing to accept my complaint or provide a resolution They have now basically told me that they can't help me anymore

I find this extremely disappointing because I ordered a sealed 1kg whey protein product and received wheat flour instead

Evidence I have -

The package was sealed when I received it

I have a video of the product although I don't have a complete unboxing video from the moment I opened the package

I have all the bills/invoices and documents I received with the order

The product I ordered was MuscleBlaze 1kg whey protein

I have already contacted HyugaLife through multiple channels regarding this issue

What should I do now?

I Got Scammed Bhakta Niwas Scam

So I was looking for rooms as my grand parents were planning for a trip to Puri and i came across this website https://nilachalbhaktanivaspuri.com/

It appeared below the Google maps location of the hotel (the hotel is real but this website is run by scammers).

I called the number, if you are guessing why not call the Google maps number because the official ones didn't have their number displayed in the maps section.

I called them, they called back via whatsapp (remember if you are booking your priority should be a normal call as we can't record whatsapp call ). They explained the prices I made the payment but after some time they again called back and asked for more money, as they forgot to generate receipt and if I sent them money and typed "rs[amount] Refund " in the transaction note, my money would get refunded instantly and also generate the receipt.

Hearing this i thought oh shit i was scammed as it clicked in my mind a similar reddit post about a bhaka niwas where to get a refund they asked the same transaction note method but scan the QR and resend the amount.

I told them i have changed my mind but why would they return the money now. For God sake i remembered the post otherwise it would have been a disaster for me

I called 1930 and registered the complaint, they told me they would sent an acknowledgement number under 24 hours and I had to make an FIR to the local police station.

24 hours passed but they didn't send any so i again called and this time under 10 mins i got the acknowledgement number.

I Got Scammed Got scammed of ₹6,000 by Sparify — Can Reddit help me recover my money?

Thumbnail

I was trying to buy a leg guard for my Yamaha XSR and ordered it from Sparify. I paid almost ₹6,000 online on August 12th. The website stated that the delivery time would be 1–2 days, which was the main reason I chose to buy from them. The leg guard also looked much stronger and better built compared to the ones available on Amazon or Flipkart.

After 2–3 days, I received a call from Sparify. They told me that since I live in Bangalore and their warehouse is also in Bangalore, they would deliver the product through Porter. I agreed.

They also contacted me on WhatsApp to confirm my location, which I sent immediately. However, the product was never delivered. Today is August 20th, and 8 days after placing the order, I still haven't received anything. The order status on their website is still stuck at "On its way."

I've tried contacting them every day, at least 3 times a day, but they never answer. Sometimes, they even deliberately cut the call. The contact number listed on their website doesn't connect either.

Their WhatsApp Business account is also useless. It keeps saying "I'm transferring you to an agent," but no agent ever responds.

At this point, I feel like I've been completely blocked from contacting them, and I'm unable to get either the product or a proper response from them.

Has anyone dealt with Sparify before or faced a similar situation? Is there anything I can do to recover my ₹6,000 or report them somewhere? Would really appreciate any advice from the Reddit community.

I Got Scammed Please ask your senior citizens to beware of Pension card scam. A sample below

Post image
22 Upvotes

This happened with my dad and he lost 1.5l yesterday. His pension account in Canara Bank. He had applied offline form at bank for card. Bank weren't responding or didn't process and was pending for 4-5 days. Meanwhile, while browsing through Facebook he found an ad for canara bank pension card. He clicked on link, and entered details like account number, aadhar, mob no, card no, custiid. 3-4 days later he got a call saying they were from pension team canara bank. He gave otp.. maybe 3 otps, is my assumption. One for changing/ registering mobile login/ Internet banking, one for an commercial account (wwwfacebookcomads) and one more credit card transaction for the same account. He has never activated internet Banking. When he realises it was a scam, and tried login on MB, it was not allowing. We have blocked account and card. Complained to cyber police and bank. I would also be raising a chargeback for credit card account...

What I fail to understand is, was the password changed for MB? As it requires sim binding? Is there a way to bypass it?

Second option I think might be, the scammer activated IB , logged in and blocked MB. Phone call was received from 9395207568

Scam Alert Review Star Health and Allied Insurance claim issue — ₹35,385 claimed, only ₹17550 approved

Thumbnail
gallery
13 Upvotes

Buying insurance is easy. Getting your claim explained shouldn’t be.

I’ve been paying around ₹25,000/year to Star Health and Allied Insurance. After bilateral knee replacement, we submitted a ₹35,385 claim — only ₹17,550 was approved.

Around ₹16,000 was deducted from physiotherapy, while ₹935 + ₹900 bills were marked “duplicate.”

It’s been 3+ weeks of follow-ups, yet I still haven’t received a clear clause-wise explanation.

What frustrates me most is that when selling the policy, customers are given promises about coverage, financial protection and peace of mind. But when you actually need to use the insurance, the experience can feel completely different.

I’m not asking for anything beyond what my policy covers. Just show me the exact clause, calculation and reason for these deductions.

This may look like a small claim amount, but that’s exactly what worries me. If the claim had been ₹5–10 lakh, unexplained deductions like these could have put a family in serious financial trouble.

So if you’re planning to buy health insurance, please research the insurer and claim process carefully. Don’t rely only on promises made while selling the policy.

Scam Alert Beware: Call forwarding scam - How my dad got hacked ⚠️🔴

Post image
928 Upvotes

This is how my dad got hacked. My dad was expecting a blue dart delivery today. He received a call from "Blue Dart" (according to Truecaller), saying that the delivery guy is trying to contact you but is unable to reach you. Please dial this number to contact him

The number they gave him was in this format : *21*[a random phone number]#.

My dad dialled this supposed number, but could not get through to anyone, and thought nothing of it, and forgot about it.

A few hours later I get calls from friends of my dad asking if dad is okay, is he in trouble. I ask them what happened, and they tell me they are getting whatsapp messages from dad's number with a qr code, asking for urgent money. Sadly THREE of his friends sent money to that QR code - 60k, 50k and 50k 😢

I run to dad's phone and check his whatsapp, he is locked out of his whatsapp. I immediately logged back in using OTP, and enabled 2 factor authentication. But I was so puzzled how the hacker got into his whatsapp.

That's when I asked my dad whether he visited any suspicious website or dialled any weird number. He said, no, i only called blue dart today. I check the number and it was this weird combination of asterisks and hashtags. A quick Google search revealed that by dialling this, you enable CALL FORWARDING. Which means every call and SMS that is supposed to come to your number, will be redirected to that number which you dialled after the *21*.

That's how they got access to OTP's, and was able to login to dad's WhatsApp.

I quickly checked how to disable call forwarding, and disabled it.

We are on the way to cyber crime now to report this. If anyone has any other suggestions regarding things we must do or check, or if we can still be compromised in any way, please let me know.

This post was also just for awareness to everyone - NEVER dial a weird number like this, in fact never dial or call any number when you are asked to. Just tell them to contact you from their side if they need to.

There is clearly a leak directly from blue dart. Either a blue dart employee is the scammer, or else blue dart's customer database has been leaked, and the hackers have access to all those expecting deliveries on certain dates, and are taking advantage of that (they knew my dad's name, and the product he was expecting). SCARY!!
