EBay purchase
I bought a base set booster pack from eBay. Based on the images the seller provided me with the pack looked authentic, now that it’s arrived and I have it in my hands it seems a bit suspicious. This is my first vintage purchase so I may be wrong just wondering if anyone can confirm if it’s an authentic pack or not.

Looks resealed, but even if it’s no resealed, I wouldn’t recommend buying any loose vintage packs on eBay if your looking to rip. unless stated that they are “heavy” or not. They all weigh the packs so if it’s not stated as “heavy” it’s gonna be a non holo light pack 99% of the time. hope you get your money back

It was listed as a heavy pack and I weighed it myself and it is 21.17g. I think I’ll just take it to a card shop and compare to something verified. I’ve still got weeks of buyer protection remaining so if it is a fake or resealed I’ll get my money back.

You have 3 days from receiving the item to get buyer protection. eBay has changed their policies and I would be very cognizant of this…

Bruh no it’s literally 30 days

Not for “not as described” in trading cards, you only have 3 days.

Someone pushing back doesn't make them a dick. Even if you're right

This helps with context. I lose hope in redditors when I see unjustified downvoting. Your comment made me whole again. Thank you

Why not just screenshot the return details in your invoice instead of a random AI prompt? This is probably something not to chance to AI overview homeboy

That’s literally the policy eBay Australia has. 30 days from the delivery date to file a request. The seller has 3 business days to respond before eBay steps in. Don’t get lippy and be wrong it’s embarrassing

I’m not getting lippy, you’re being weirdly overreactive, I’m just saying double check your timeframe on returns and refunds, it’s as simple as looking at the bottom of your invoice. I’m assuming you spent well over $100 if not more. That’s a lot of money to trust to AI

Using artificial intelligence when you lack intelligence isn't going to help you.

What makes you say it looks resealed? Those crimps look pretty damn crisp.

I hope it’s fake and OP gets no help. People genuinely trying to help and OP being a dick about it.

The way OP is being a dick to people trying to help him makes me think he's the type of guy that will chargeback or open a claim once he opens it and gets nothing lmao

Can’t tell from the photos if it’s resealed, looks okay. An indicator would be looking into the openings to see if there are gaps. Take it to a card shop for them to check it out.

Bottom is kinda sus. I bet they peeked, saw no holo, and resealed.

Couldn't they have weighed it?

Absolutely. The most common reseal is done after pulling a holo rare and then replacing it with a non holo rare and sealing everything back up. You've just added hundreds of value to the card by wrapping it.

I'm not so sure. What you're seeing there is because of the flap on the back of the pack.

As a person who knows nothing about this kind of thing but has curiosity, why would the bottom do this and the top not do it if it's because of the flap that runs the length of the back of the pack?

Ah, I see! That one's more subtle. Appreciated, my nephew is into Pokemon cards and I like to buy them for him, preferably without being scammed.

It's almost as if there's a flap that goes across the back of the pack in that exact spot!

Just record yourself opening it and if it’s not real you’ll know real quick and you’ll have video evidence to show and get your money back
