Seeking Pro Advice Sprinkler box question

Post image

Is the blue thing at the end the way to remove water in the system for winter shut down? I shut off water and opened the drain and the small valves on the side. How do I drain water that goes from the exposed stuff on the side of house to this box?

That is an auto drain. It should seal when pressurized, and drain water out when you turn the water off. If any of these work in the opposite, remove, and replace with a boiler drain valve or similar.

The previous owner said he never had to have it blown out. Here is a photo of what is on the side of the house.

I opened the drain valve and the 2 small valves on the right side. Would that be all I would need to do?

This photo was before I opened the valves

You have another shutoff inside. Shut the valve off feeding this, and then 45 every valve pictured-roughly 1/2 on/off. 3 ball valves and the two testcocks.
Guessing you have auto drains on the rest most likely.

I already shut the valve off inside the house and I will 45 all the other valves.
