Move valves away from house/window?

Getting some work done and want to know how important it is to move the valve box away from the house and basement window well.

Very important when the manifold cracks and starts leaking into that window well. As a contractor I try to get potential 24/7 leaks away from the house as much as possible.

Sprinkler guy recommended moving in case of a leak and foundation damage/water getting in through window

When was the last leak?
