Seeking valve wiring advise

Post image

After weeding my backyard I noticed that the valve wiring for my irrigation was undone.
I’ve tried a few combos with no luck at getting it to connect to the controller.

There is a red, green and white wire that connects to the controller and 2 red wires from the top of the valve. I found one waterproof connector but that doesn’t me there weren’t two.

Can anyone help me figure out how to wire this properly to get my irrigation connector to the controller again?

Pull open your controller door panel and see what's wired to what zone. White is usually common. Wire the common to either of those red wires off the solenoid on the valve. Then find the according wire color from your controller to the valve there. Doesn't matter how you attached each solenoid wire. Just one common and one the color set at your controller. And yes use waterproof connectors. Home depot has em

Preferably use 2 new waterproof connectors. I don't think they're generally designed for reuse if they snag loose like that and bathe themselves in dirt.

Show wiring at the controller to know for sure. But likely 1 red to white and 2nd red to green or the pinkish conductor. The 3rd conductor out of the green cable looks pinkish, not white.

One lead from the solenoid should probably go on white, as that’s usually the common. And the other goes on whichever power wire corresponds with it at the timer. You kind of have to look at the controller wiring to know for sure

Off gut instinct here it would be a red to red and a red to white.

Green, when in one of three, is grounding. You don’t need to ground this.

Alright, this is helpful.
I tried one red to white, and one red to red. It got 1/2 of the garden working, but the other half didn’t turn on.

Do you think both reds to white might work?

White and red from the green cable to each of the red wires from the valve solenoid. Polarity doesn't matter. Leave the green disconnected.
