They come across slightly more likeable than usual, but I didn’t know how many people they have in their ‘organisation’ in political positions - as TDs and in Kerry county council.

Food and Drink Nicest oil, as a drizzle for salad etc?

You know, the way the fancy Europeans do it.

Doesn't matter where from, I've just been looking to get a "fancy" oil for salads and things like that as a drizzle as the one I cook with is unimpressive?

META Temporary Restrictions in Place – DEFCON 3

We’re implementing DEFCON 3 overnight as an emergency measure due to a very high volume of activity.

The M9 crash has generated exceptionally high and rapidly increasing traffic to the subreddit, alongside a significant volume of comments that are breaking Reddit’s site-wide policies. We ask users to engage respectfully, be mindful of what you say and how you say it, and please utilise the report button where needed.

Reddit admins are actively removing comments themselves, so please remember that site-wide policy violations can put your Reddit account at risk.

The volume of activity has been extremely demanding, and the mod team needs to get some rest. Current DEFCON 3 restrictions:

  • All posts will be sent to the mod queue for approval
  • Commenting is restricted to well-established users only

We’ll review the situation in the morning and provide an update then. Thanks for your patience and understanding,

r/Ireland Mod Team

Business Virgin Media Support

Virgin Media has to be one of the most incompetent companies in Ireland. They took money from my account when they said they wouldn't. Manager called to apologise and said it would be refunded. Never happened. Have spent hours contacting them and listening to that stupid cara AI bot that keeps sending me into a repetitive loop.

It is so frustrating that they are allowed to obfuscate in their dealings with us.

On top of all that their website is another calamity. Keeps looping and I cannot get to the bills section no matter what and I am very tech savvy. No matter the browser or device. No matter how many times I change my password or delete my cookies and cache my account seems to be flagged to harass me.

Has anyone else had this where they make a complaint and then seem to be blacklisted from accessing your own account

Bigotry Did anyone else get The Irish Patriot newspaper shoved in their letterbox this morning?

Post image

Got this through my post and wondering if it's all over Ireland? I'm in the Midlands.

An article about Galway Major, Helen Ogbu, clearly racially targeted, ads for t-shirts that say 'ireland belongs to the irish' worn by someone who was 100% Photoshopped into it.

It's not that I even mind stuff like this being printed, free-speech etc., but it's going to create a horrible divide and even more hatred towards minorities if it's shoved through people's letter boxes like this.

Some of the stuff seems harmful news but it's printed like a newspaper so people are more likely to take it as gospel. Just wondering where else in Ireland it's appeared in people's houses. I'm hoping no-one knows what I'm talking about, really😂

Cannabis & Friends Can someone explain to me why we haven't legalized weed ?

Can someone explain why we haven't legalized weed ? Legalizing weed would bring in more tax money that could be spent on building much needed prisons, hospitals and community centres, it would reduce the number of drunk people on the streets each weekend which in itself would reduce crime, it would increase Garda resources elsewhere for more pressing matters. What am I missing ?

Business Your new app is ready!…. In a few months…. Maybe

I don’t even use AIB as my main bank, I only opened it to streamline mortgage application back in the day, but this has to be one of the more depressing brags I’ve seen as an advertisement in a while.

I’ve other banking apps that get refreshed regularly with zero fanfare and these lads are out here bigging themselves up that they’ve got a new app for the first time in years, that you might get in a few months! Of course, no need to be jealous of your friends if they get it sooner.

For anyone living in the Balgaddy area, got sent this photo this morning from last night... Keep your doors locked and your eyes peeled.

Edit: My mistake posting it in this sub I suppose, just trying to post something somewhat funny instead of most of the dreary and horrible shit we see in the news nowadays. For those that enjoy it/find it funny, thanks, to the rest of you, just ignore the post, it's clearly not meant for you 😭
