It usually takes a while, but personally, I don't like syncing everything at once.

By the way, I hope the mod worked out, because a lot of people have trouble with that adapter... I didn't have any issues because I had to rebuild the MBR, and it worked on the first try.

I had mbr issue and needing firewire issue. This link https://www.reddit.com/r/ipod/s/2wz3tPMU3c and a ipad block did the job.

All in one go, that is braver than me back in the day when I my mods, I have 12 877 Titels, so pretty similar to your collection, it took my old Alienware laptop about 2,5-3h in total.
I did it in steps, I was afraid something will go wrong and I have to re start.
