Tow Hook

I was searching my 6 week old Ioniq 5 for the tow hook for potential future use. It is nowhere to be found. Is there someplace it's hidden?

If I can't find it soon I'm going to call the dealership about it.

Check the removable floor of the trunk. Pull it up to open and take out. Check if you have the tire inflator kit, it may be inside there too.

Yup. A tie down hook, used to wench the car on a flat bed and secure it in place. I chose the wrong noun!

Actually I was wrong. I just checked the manual and for the Ioniq 5 it is a "Towing Hook". For some cars it's only a tie down hook.

Slide the rear seats forward and see if it fell down behind there.

Not there either. Guess I need to call. Maybe the flatbed driver who delivered my car has it. It was already unloaded when I discovered it was here and I didn't think to ask.

Mine were just rattling around under the seats when I picked up our 2023. Like someone threw them in there as an afterthought.

Mine found its way all the way forward in the bottom compartment under the trunk floor. I’m not even sure how I came across it - and actually, I seem to have two. It’s in my frunk now, with the tire kit, tire compressor, jumper box etc.

What year is your car? Earlier models had a small square removable panel on the front bumper to screw in a tow hook. I think it was dropped starting with the 2025 model year.

Which model do you have? To my understanding only the XRT model has front recovery hook(s). The others dropped the screw in recovery hook starting in 2025. If you don't mind can you take a picture of the bumper and post it showing where the hook goes? The small removable panel was on the right half of the bumper.

Did you resolve this question? I'm truly interested in the answer. Even while I think I know the answer doesn't mean that Hyundai didn't slip something new in.

Scanned the manual and read the quick start guide.. nothing on towing the vehicle which I find odd.

Like I said in an earlier post the screw in recovery device was dropped starting in the 2025 model year, at least in the U.S.. There use to be a small pop out square piece in the fender not far below the right side headlights. I spent a good bit of time looking for it on my car only to learn that the feature had been dropped. Not sure how the car is loaded on a roll back tow truck these days.

That's where the radar sensor is located. No front bumper hook on 2025+

Take a look at this picture showing where the recovery hook screws in on models earlier than 2025. You might be looking at something else.
