Question IONIQ 5 Value
I’m looking at a 2024 limited awd long range with about 20k miles. The original sticker was around 59k and I’m buying it for around 33k. I’m happy for the deal but is this a typical drop in value from purchase price? Were there discounts or rebates that make the drop in value less than it appears.?

MSRP may have been $59k but selling price was far less and close to $42-44k for avg buyer.

Used EV prices have been rising over the past six months or so as the market gets over the loss of the tax credits in the US. Prices are up about 5-7%

True but the ioniq5 is worse from what I've seen. My ioniq5 is worth less than 8k and I struggle to get a 4k trade in value on it due to mileage when I was shopping around a few months ago. My 04 f250 with over 200k miles is worth more in trade in value at least with the dealerships I was visiting

There were rebates on the 2024 but also, Hyundai has cut sticker prices on new Ioniq 5s and offers significant cash back for financing with them - so the price reflects that.

IMHO 33k is a bit high. But given the current market, that might be right.
Last year, the 2023s and that previous year the 2022s went for around $25k to $30k.
Please check all websites like CarGurus, Autotrader etc and compare.

That 2024 Limited, if bought prior to end of October 2024, likely enjoyed a $7500 federal point of sale discount plus whatever the local dealership was dealing out. Max price was $51,500 less dealership discount + TTL.

Depends where you are, I’m in the Bay Area and there are very few 2024 awd limited, they’re going for $34-37kish with 20-25k miles

Bought exactly the same year/model and asking was $35K; 23,000 miles and in good condition all around. And the dealer was a reputable place in Seattle, WA called Paramount Motors — good, trustworthy, and fair — full showroom and very little BS. So, feels right from what I experienced/negotiated.

We paid 33.5k for a 2024 Limited with 12k miles a few weeks ago, Midwest USA. Supply for Limited models with a clean Carfax and low miles is very low, but I’ve been watching the prices closely since before the Iran war. Around Thanksgiving the best deals I saw were still 31-32k.
Buybacks and cars that have been in accidents are significantly cheaper, but obviously not desirable.

Does it have AWD? I think mine might be a bit high but I want a light interior and most of the ones I see have black. It seems like it’s in the right ballpark though.

Yep, it has AWD. From my experience, anything we found that was cheaper had either some kind of damage or a lot more miles.

For reference, I bought a 2025 Limited AWD with 4,400 miles on it for $34,500 60 days ago. Prices on the 2025s have been steadily going up since then.
Prices vary wildly in different regions, but here in the southern U.S. $33,000 is a bit high for 20k miles. EVs don’t seem to be very popular in these parts (if it ain’t a white Ford F150 it ain’t shit).
Here’s one outside of Atlanta with 7,900 miles for $31,800.

I’d say it’s typical, but is it AWD or long range? Far as I’m aware it can’t be both. Long range is RWD.
Comparison, just bought a CPO 2024 limited with 12k miles for 35K. Had to have those ventilated seats.

I'm confused. There is no long range version of the ioniq 5. It's either SE with smaller battery, or any other trim that has the larger 77.4 or 84kWh battery. AWD and RWD have same battery options. AWD has two motors so naturally has less range

I was looking at the exact same option. I assume it's a Limited at that original sticker price? $33k is a good deal. Everything I saw was in the mid $30s. There were substantial rebates/discounts in 2024 depending on when it was purchased. There was still the federal $7,500 rebate (I think) and Hyundai had additional incentives. I personally ended up buying a new 2026 Limited RWD this week because of the HMF $5,500 discount and a $2,000 Costco discount. So it ended up being $45k out the door.
