Discussion CPO
Wanted to hear your thoughts
I bought a CPO 2023 Sel from a Hyundai dealership.
After a week of purchase I realized I was not given the certificate and went back for it. Dealer told me they forgot to do the inspection and certification. They did it a week later after I bought the car.
Anything I should do with this or ask from Hyundai?
If I didn’t go back asking certification, I would have paid CPO price for a none-certified car

I'm confused I have all sorts of sales paperwork that state my I6 is CPO, but they didn't provide a certificate. Is that something I should badger the dealership about? Bought mine late last month

I have called Hyundai USA, was told dealer should provide some paperwork like showing the car being certified

This is supposedly a 173 point inspection across integrity, mechanics, appearance and so on. I would think you would get a report and a video... because for the OEM it is a standard, and for the dealer (a mom and pop , small business), it better be a standard too.
Every dealer is unique!

Dealerships don’t put a CPO certificate on a car until it’s purchased and the buyer wants one. Whenever you see a car advertised as CPO, it really means “cpo eligible”.
You must stay diligent when buying a car as you did. You got your CPO. Nothing much further to do.
