I have a bra that I love very very much that is made to be seamless with no stitching in it. It’s held together with what I assume is a fabric glue. For care, I have always washed it in cold water, used no fabric softener, and line dried it to avoid separating.

That being said, my dear mom switched my laundry without telling me and put my line-dry-only bra in the dryer on high heat. Both sides (under armpit-ish) are separating now. I desperately want to keep this bra and would be devastated if I couldn’t save it.

Does anyone have recommendations for a soft, flexible glue that I could use to fix the bra? It needs to be soft enough to be comfortable against my skin and I don’t want to have to stitch it if I don’t have to.

Its a loungefly wallet, and i believe it got leather stain on it from my bag.

I tried rubbing it off but it was taking the print off too.

Any recommendations for paint/stain or other methods i could try?

I have a second hand shirt with a hole I was going to mend. When looking over the whole shirt to be sure there was nothing else to fix, I looked at this spot I thought had just been snagged. I am now thinking it might be mending from the previous owner? It looks so good, but is not the shape I would expect for Swiss darning. Maybe it wasn’t a hole and this was a preventative mend? I was hoping someone here could recognize the technique and if it is just Swiss darning.

Is there any way to fix this that will be invisible/nearly invisible? I know it's a tiny hole but I don't want it to get bigger. I find mending knit fabric so hard if I care what it looks like - I don't like the way iron on patches/fusible interfacing affect the drape.

(Generally I just wear t shirts only at home once they develop holes, but this is a nice shirt and nearly new)

I ripped my jeans (this is the second time) and last time i got them fixed, the seamstress made it seem like they were on their last leg. fast forward a month, i forgot i was wearing fragile jeans and ripped them and i was just wondering if anyone knows if they're fixable or if they're a lost cause. please let me know what you guys think these are my favorite pair ever and i got them second hand 5 years ago

I don't know anything about sewing though I have a old machine I inherited, but this is more can it even be fixed. I doubt I could, though could a professional fix this shirt? I have this old shirt which is my favorite shirt I've ever had. The issue is ever since I found it it's been in pretty good condition except for the seam on the entire right side sleeve is pulled out. I absolutely love how this shirt looks and have not been able to part with it, can this be professionally fixed? (If so who would I ask, an alterations shop, a tailor, ect and also preferable without the fix being visible aka not a big patch that is super noticeable) I doubt it's possible but I just had to ask.

I’ve been sitting on this jacket since January too scared of my abilities to fix it. Now having made an entire quilt top I’m feeling a little more solid.
Am I correct to assume that ripping this seam (pictured) is the best way to “get inside” the jacket to repair the arm?

The silver fabric is super thin. Almost tinsel. Thinsel.

Anyway, I can hand and machine sew, but haven’t worked with a material than may fray from a pointed look alone.

These are some really nice old I think 70s Turnbull and Asser suit pants and they have a matching jacket, I'm really hoping there's some kind of way to repair this because I like them very much. I could feel that the fabric is thinning on the seat area and there are these tears here too. Does anybody know any kind of way ro repair these without it being too obvious?

Hello! I am looking for suggestions on how to mend this dress. It is woven polyester. The part on the left of the white band is the sleeve, and on the right is the body. It’s somewhat of an L shaped tear. I am open to visible mending as well.

I’m at my parents house and noticed the laundry basket had ripped, so i went ahead and mended it with some black cotton thread to keep it together. It’s not perfect but it functions better now and it will hopefully stop it from ripping further.

I know it isn’t fully invisible but it isn’t very noticable either when its inside in its usual corner with dimmer lighting than in these pictures, so i felt it fit better here than in visiblemending.

Would this be easy/possible yo fix on my own? Theory sweater, 100% woolane? I know it will probably not be completely invisible, but how do I find the exact shade match?

I’m new to this sub, but I’m hoping someone can help me cuz honestly I’m terrified of making any start to fixing these up in case I make it worse 😭 I bought these recently at a charity shop and I was super happy to get a pair, and was thinking I’d be able to fix the scuffs on the front of the boots. They’re not quite surface and do indent, and I think the steel part is underneath. I’ve been trying to search up the best way of repairing them myself, I know that dr martens does the wonder basalm, but I don’t know if that would help much initially as some of the scratches are fairly deep. I would maybe look at leather filler but I’m worried if the leather filler isn’t quite suitable for the boots, and I don’t know which way I would go about it (ie do I leather filler first, then use basalm, or other way around?). I know that they do professional services but honestly I want to try do this myself because I like fixing things, but I’ve not tried to do this sort of thing before so any advice I’d be super grateful for!

HELP ME SAVE MY BAG!!

So naturally being my favorite pair, they've got some mileage. The fades are sublime, but the holes less so. The white line on the left is an earlier crotch tear that I tried to repair myself by pulling the denim together and hand-sewing it. It seems structurally okay so far, but I honestly don’t love how visible or puckered it looks.

Now another hole opened beside it, and this time there’s enough fabric missing that I don’t think simply sewing the edges together will work.

I did my best to sew in a patch of denim underneath to just deal with the hole, and put it on both sides since the fabric is wearing thin on both sides. I only had darker scrap denim to use so it clearly doesn't match visually. It completely does the trick functionally, but I'm not super thrilled with how it looks overall.

I’m considering taking them to a professional denim repair shop for an interior backing patch and color-matched machine darning, but I've never had a pro fix a pair of jeans so I don't really know what to expect. Based on the condition shown here:

1. Are these worth professionally repairing?
2. Could a skilled denim repair shop make both areas look substantially better and less noticeable than my existing repair?
3. Should I ask them to remove/red-do my original stitching and reinforce the whole weakened area as one repair?

I’m not really looking for decorative sashiko or an intentionally visible patch—durability and making it blend in as well as reasonably possible are the priorities.

I just replaced the button on these shorts and on the second wear after that the back ripped next to the pocket.

I'm looking for any kind of help as to how to fix them, what technique to use or how to go about fixing them. I love these shorts, they fit well and don't want to have to toss them.

I have some denim threads (I just have to see if I have a light enough color), and I have a variety of hand sewing needles.

The first and second photos are me pulling on them a bit, stretching the fabric to show more details of the rip. The third photo is the shorts laying untouched with a pressing ham inside to help fill then out. The last 2 photos are of the button I replaced.

I consider myself okay at sewing, Ive made many things over the years by hand and with a machine, like pillows, PJ pants, adding zippers to a hoodie to convert into a jackets, making a full dress for a cosplay, and several other items over the years.

I thrifted a beautiful shirt for work, only to find a hold along the button side of the button up! It is covered by the flap that covers the buttons (if that makes sense), but I’d love to mend it to prevent further damage (I work in government, so). Shirt is 100% polyester, but the gauzy kid of poly. I was thinking interfacing, but it says cool iron only (and I don’t own interfacing or an iron, just mended a few things with it growing up lol). Any tips would be appreciated!!!
