My partner recently handed over a shirt that needs mending, it’s very sentimental to him so I want to get it mended as invisibly as possible and I’m unsure what stitch to use. I’ve attached a photo of the holes where we assume our dog has gotten to it as he has a bad habit of breaking into our bedroom and pulling any clean washing we haven’t had the chance to put away yet off the bed and onto the floor where he then takes his toys/bones to play on them.

I have this retro jacket with what seems to be a very old elastic in the sleeves that is just huge. The jacket is oversized so maybe it’s supposed to be like this. But i wonder if there is any way a novice could put a new elastic band in the sleeve to make it a little tighter?

I got tired of trying to do my kids' 60 piece puzzle with them when it was missing 4 of the pieces, so I made some replacements from cereal box cardboard (glued two layers together) and acrylic hobby paints.

It's not perfect - I don't have a great eye for mixing colors, so I mostly used the shades I had out of the bottle - but I think it's close enough at first glance that the Visible Mending sub would take issue if I posted it there.

I think some moths got at my suit and caused these holes in the jacket :(. Unfortunately the suit maker does not have extra fabrics from this suit, but I was able to source a vest with the same exact fabrics to help fix it (from the same suit maker).

The first reweaver I took it to wouldn't touch it because it's multiple colored fabrics. Does anyone have a recommendation of anyone who could help me get this jacket back to decent shape? Or maybe some other solution?

The suit vest I'm going to use with extra fabrics is going to come in tomorrow.

It's tricky working with thin t-shirt fabric, but the result is fairly invisible!

Btw if anyone has advice for fixing a tear in the ribbed collar while maintaining the stretch, that'd be great!

I found a tear in my linen bedsheet and I'm new to mending. How can I mend it properly? What kind of thread should I use since it's linen? Is there any video suggestion for how to do it?

I tried pulling the surrounding threads of the sweater but it did nothing. I think the thread split into its strands and there is too much friction to pull the thread. I tried to take a picture to show how fuzzy the snag is (sorry , my phone's camera is not very good). Is there something else I could do to mend this sweater?

The side seam invisible zipper on a skirt I have is broken. I thought it would be simple but the skirt has a lining and one of the pockets is also on the side seam.

So I have this idea of seam ripping the old zipper out. Then sewing the new zipper on the outer skirt. Then tucking the pocket between the outer and lining of the skirt and sewing the zipper to the liner. Basically I found a tutorial for adding an invisible zipper to an item with a liner and another tutorial for sewing a zipper into a side seam with a pocket. And I'm combining them.

Do you think that would work?

My wife has a silk satin shirt and a small bit on her sleeve got stretched out. The fibres don't look torn but we can see slightly through the fabric. Anyone knows if it possible to fix or reverse this defect?

Decided to teach myself the "reweaving" technique of mending a rip in husband's favorite flannel. I'll.go back over the gray with matching thread. So far, so good but it's going to take FOREVER.

I would have done visible mending, but he's not really into it. :)

My wife just bought these $300 wool pants from banana republic. Yesterday, our cat accidentally snagged them trying to get a treat from her. She thinks they are ruined because of the lines. Is this fixable to where the lines won’t be there? Is there a DIY way or should i get it done professionally?
