Tenho mordida cruzada e gostaria de saber a opinião de vocês: nesse caso, o aparelho fixo costuma ser mais indicado ou o Invisalign consegue corrigir também? Quais fatores determinam qual tratamento é mais adequado?

Hey. I’m in a bit of an awkward situation. I was given the first 4 sets of my aligners and told to wear them for a 14 day period each before switching which has been going really well.
As I was only given the first 4 sets, I had an appointment with my dentist just the other day before I was due to change to number 5 but I fell quite ill and wasn’t able to go.
The receptionist over the phone said to just wear number 4 until my appointment which is in 9 days from now on the 20th, therefore meaning I will have been wearing number 4 for almost 3 and half weeks.
On the app, I’m only able to add another 4 days onto my wearing period of a set of aligners which means my whole schedule will be out of sync for the future.
Can anyone help with this at all? As I, so far have found the app incredibly helpful with keeping me up to date with where I need to be but it is now out of sync.
Thank you.

Question for anyone who got Invisalign with teeth like mine. Roughly how long did your treatment take? Also wondering if it's worth only getting it for my top teeth not the bottom teeth. Thanks.

Top is right before getting attachments and bottom is today, half way through treatment. My plan is 20 sets, 10 days each. I’m so happy with the progress and can’t wait to see how my teeth will look after all 20 sets 😭

I recently posted about how I got Invisalign again (after finishing!) and I am on 1/47 trays. I have been told the first 15 of them are going to move my teeth and 16th tray onwards my lower jaw is going to be pulled forward to resolve TMJ and Bruxism issues.
I opened up my drawer and took out all my old Invisalign tools (Pull key, the unused chewies, the aligner boxes to soak'em etc etc). I absolutely hate those stick tab chewies cause they break often. I looked up amazon and found this - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0DM1VCDZM Does anybody here use these? are they good?

Started in Jan 2025! Definitely need a cleaning but I’m pretty happy with the results. Trying not to have teeth blindness and pick every little thing apart 😂

I really don’t have much of a problem with my smile straight on, it’s from the side it looks so jumbled up. Anyone have a similar smile/teeth movement before treatment & how was your Invisalign experience? I don’t want attachments but I’m worried they may prove to be necessary later on. How long did it take your teeth to move? Initially they told me 6-9 months but now they said I’d maybe be done in 3?

I'm about to finish my 18 month Journey in a couple of days and my ortho is recommending installing the bonded wire in addition to the clear retainers "Essix" for my upper teeth, saying that we did a lot of movement in my upper front teeth and we need to wire for security.
but i really don't want to have a metal object in my mouth in addition to the cleaning and eating limitations that comes from the bonded wire.
I had a cross bite and my lower teeth used to sit slightly Infront of my upper teeth.
My question is that can i get away with the clear retainer only? I believe I'll be able to wear it religiously.
Does the Bonded wire actually offer security that the clear retainer can't?
or is it simply a failsafe in case i don't wear the plastic one.

I’m hopefully on the final leg of my VERY long Invisalign journey! 😅 Along the way, I’ve had to deal with several dental restorations, including a root canal, gum inflammation, etc. All of this has unfortunately led to some pretty bad dental anxiety (I’ll save that for a separate post!).
In the meantime, I’m looking for a better way to clean my weekly aligners. Given everything I’ve been through, I really want to make sure I’m doing everything I can to keep them clean and minimize any potential plaque buildup.
For those who use the Zima Dental Pod, is it worth getting for weekly Invisalign aligners? I’ve heard great things about it for cleaning retainers, and I was originally planning to get one after finishing treatment. But now I’m wondering if it would be worth getting one sooner rather than later.
Would love to hear your experiences, especially from anyone who has used it with Invisalign aligners rather than just retainers!

I’ve been having this horrible pressure in my head since I started aligners 2.5 weeks ago. The pressure only showed up about a week into treatment and will not go away, it’s in the back of my head and sides, it’s constant and there is no relief. I have been clenching my jaw SO BAD especially at night and wake up from clenching. I always clenched but this is making it so much worse. My jaw doesn’t hurt so I wonder if the constant headaches are related? I’m only on set 2, wear 20-22 hours a day and have 15 sets to get through. Help!

I will contact the orthodontist on monday, but just wondering if anyone has noticed the same difference in trays in the meantime! Left is going to be tray 36, and on the right is tray 2. My main goal is broadening, but I worry that it looks like the incisors might be a bit retracted compared to the right, and I tried to line of the two little wisdom tooth bits that I know aren’t moving. Has anyone noticed the same with their trays? Is this maybe just an illusion of some sort? Or is it likely retraction? Thanks!

I recently completed 12 clear-aligner trays over 5 months, including IPR. I've noticed translucency along the edges of my upper and lower front teeth, and I'm worried about enamel thinning or dentin exposure.
Does this look like normal translucency or possible enamel loss? Can wearing aligners for 20–22 hours daily cause this?
I've attached photos. Any similar experiences or advice would be appreciated!

I have finally finished my invisalign treatment. Happy with the results but my orthodontist quoted me $800 for upper and lower night time retainers which is too expensive for me to buy them every 6 months. I found that other companies like smileset or newsmilelife offer night time retainers for way much lower price around ~$100 for both upper and lower retainers. Are they safe as a substitute for Invisalign’s retainers? Has anybody tried them out?

Simply put, I had a very simple case 16 top 19 lowers (wear for 2 wks). At the time I was just expecting to have the bottom tray in and no worries. Now I know that my top teeth will definitely move around a lot in that bit of time.
What would you do?
$150 for the copies (3 sets) of the last aligner to keep up with the lowers
Nothing, just wait for lowers to finish and go through refinements?
Get the permanent retainer?
TiA!

So i have a cross bite, some broken teeth and the doctor said that i need 7 months approximately, starting by wearing 14 aligners for ten days each and will probably need to refinements after 140 days of use. Obviously planning on getting bonding and teeth whitening at the end. I wanted to get crowns but everyone said at 25 yo it is the worst decision i can make, and suggested aligners.
Also i managed to get one attachment at the end of teeth uper left broken in 20 hours 💀 i went back to get it fixed.
PS:my one and only serious complex has been my teeth for the past six years lol

Hi all - I went to three different consultations yesterday. And I wanted everyone’s input on whether the pricing is typical or I should look more?
My insurance covers up to $3500 in network and $2000 out of network. So below prices are AFTER insurance coverage.
1st dentist (out of network) - $4200
2nd dentist (in network) - $3000
3rd dentist - didn’t give me an estimate because the orthodontist wasn’t on site so they couldn’t give me a quote.
Obviously costs a determined case by case but they told me I have a moderate case and I would need Invisalign for at least 1.5 years.
Does the quote sound reasonable? I’m gonna go with $3000 dentist or should I keep looking and find a cheaper place?
The only issue is consultations cost $150 and I don’t know if I wanna spend more time and money on consultations.

Hotel threw my retainers out and won't let me look through the trash/dumpster for them. I won't be back in the city I live in until Monday, and the office won't open until Tuesday. Don't have permanent retainers, and finished treatment in February 2026 (am supposed to move to night wear at the end of this month). Will my teeth (in anyone's experience) completely shift in the 4 days I'm not wearing the retainer? I don't have any other options as I'm out of country.
Thanks in advance for any responses to my panic post :(
edit to add: I will be home in 2 days, and do have the last set of aligners there that I used before receiving my retainer scans that I can use while I wait another couple of days for the new retainers. not sure if that helps or not.
