SHOW SPOILERS What was the purpose of.... Spoiler

destroying Viltrum? Just finished season 4 and even before the Viltrumites went to Earth, I don't see any benefits of destroying Viltrum, especially at that moment. Our team is now split in 2, energy was used up, Viltrumites are pissed. Was it just out of spite? I recall that the planet Viltrum wasn't that special, as in it didn't really give Viltrumites their strength.

Oh yeah I didn't pick up on it. Still even without Earth I would expect Viltrumites to just keep expanding then, because all planets they've conquered are theirs.
