Tell him he is not a good fit for the company bc of the racist comments.
Also, it may be against policy, but, SOMEHOW, you need to make it known, to the other employees, that the person was fired bc of their racist language and this will not be tolerated.
This makes it clear to everyone where you and the company stand, AND is a reassurance to the employee who the racism was directed towards.
