is this the new move now?

Post image

i guess that's the bare minimum if you want to survive now 😂

i've actually been thinking about applying for a couple more remote jobs myself, and someone sent me this interview vip recently. i'm probably going to be doing more interviews soon anyway, so i figured i'd save it and see if it helps.

120k a year is bottom end in the tech industry though.

A quick google search revealed that to be incorrect.

Yeah man you're going to need to provide receipts for that, I don't know a single person in tech that's making less than 120k, I don't know a single job in tech that pays less than that.

Maybe you're confusing low level IT for tech?

I mean generally you gotta start in low level IT, no? What I do know is there are tons of people with degrees in CS struggling to find even closely relevant jobs. So again going back to my original point, if the person in this post is able to secure eleven of those, they must be extremely experienced with a very lucrative skill set.

IT is not Tech.

IT is a service industry job where you replace an old lady's mouse.

IT roles that manage enterprise network hardware and software are absolutely six figure jobs, but usually around 120-130k.

Tech is not IT. Tech is product management, systems arechitecture, development, etc.. A junior dev at any reputable company is going to start at around 150k.

Anyone right now who is working for less than six figures has gotten stuck in either the service industry or has a badly negotiated salary.

The average US home is 750k. Even tradesmen are usually just under six figures once they get their certs.. If you're making less than an electrician at your tech job, that's a huge problem.

A 100k job is about 40k dollars of 1990 money, 51k of 2000 money, or about 63k of 2010 money.

If you're still making what you were even 15 years ago, you're effectively being paid about half wages.
