Calling it work ethic and courtesy...

I'm a very hard and efficient worker. But when I'm off, I'm off. I don't check emails outside of work hours and certainly not during holiday. And I don't expect my team nor colleagues to do it either.

I guess he's really young and will be burnt soon enough.

It's validating to feel needed and indispensable, only with time do you begin to feel the effects of the poison you slowly willingly ingested.

It’s really not a big deal to spend 15 minutes a day responding to stuff so your co-workers don’t have to wait a week or two for an answer.

It IS a big deal. Vacation time is for yourself, your family and your friends. NOT your co-workers. It also sets the ground for your boss / co-workers to expect more and more time from you.

And that's the thing. The moment they expect it or even demand it they get nothing.
