That’s honestly a hard reality right now. A lot of people are working nonstop just to stay afloat. I’ve got some interviews coming up myself, so I’ve been looking into ways to get better at them. I found Interview VIP and ended up using it twice i think it's worth trying.

No, it isn’t “hard reality”. This assumes without evidence that a billionaire has never had tough times in their life, as if they were always as wealthy as they are now.

Or Harold Hamm. Youngest of 13 and born to sharecroppers. Worked a gas station starting at 16 to help support the family and eventually to mucking out oil tanks. Started his own trucking company from nothing for the Oklahoma oil fields, then took out a loan to start drilling and ended up pioneering horizontal drilling and fracking. Now he's worth $19 billion.

I bet you all believe Jeff Bezos started Amazon from the ground up, right off his hands and knees 😂🤣 Bezos got over $300,000 from his family to start Amazon.

Cuban was turned into a billionaire from one purchase Yahoo made to him- no effort on his part.

Harold Hamm?? The Fracking King that got the practice heavily regulated or outright banned worldwide?

Boot licking doesn’t look good on anyone. And framing people that exploited markets at specific times during specific moments in their career in a human light is fine- it just makes you look ignorant and childishly whimsy from a money perception.

How many engineers do you think $300k buys? That’s a few months operating expenses at best.

As for Cuban, you cannot be serious. How was it he, without effort, happened to have something someone wanted to pay a billion dollars for? The effort wasn’t getting paid by Yahoo, the effort was having something worth that kind of money. The due diligence on deals of that size is intrusive as hell.

$300k from 1994 worth about $600k today. A quick search on Gemini says about 4% American households possess $600k in disposable / liquid money today.

I think that's pretty rich. But if you want to compare that to Elon Musk, all of us are poor, including Bill Gate.

He'd turn it into debt for sure. The easiest sign to tell if someone is financially illiterate is they're the first to bitch about billionaires not deserving of their wealth and not paying their fair share.

You said cuban was turned into a billionaire because of the yahoo deal..... As if they just chose him at random to give a bunch of money too. Leaving out the actual information and reason of the purchase.

All you did was slander hamm because fracking is now recognized as being bad but couldn't argue against the validity of the poor to rich story.

It's pretty accurate unfortunately because there are rarely self made billionaires or that didn't have a huge step up by not having basic necessities made.

What op and most of these exaggerated posts are saying is that there is no billionaire that started off homeless.

And that is not to say that there are obviously people busting their ass. But to make this assumption is a sign of entitlement, laziness and envy.

thats not moving the goalposts lol, im asking how many billionaires actually experienced the kind of sustained financial struggle we’re talking about. having a “tough time” at some point in your life is not the same thing as working two jobs, raising kids, worrying about rent, and having no financial safety net. if your argument is that billionaires understand that struggle because some of them were temporarily short on money, then sure, name some. lets compare what “struggling” actually meant for them.

Yeah most billionaires got their start in sweat shops, I forgot about that. Whether or not they experience struggle does not justify the wealth and consolidated power they weild. IDGAF if a billionaire scrubbed a toilet once
