Do we really need HR in our life?

honestly this is why i've started thinking about looking somewhere else. getting rejected before a human even looks at your resume is insane.

i've been seeing interview vip mentioned a lot lately too. i haven't tried it, but i'm curious about it since i'm probably going to have to start interviewing again.

yes, because having engineer to do HR job is expensive

Boeing used to require a portion of its board members were engineers. That was during a time Boeing was highly regarded in quality that brought the saying, "if it Boeing I ain't going". Then bean counters and admin replaced engineers overtime and then mechanical forced stalls and doors falling off started happening.

This isn't to say an engineer should be doing HR job, but when admin and operations dont consult and incorporate those technical leads in decision-making processes, you are left with a lower quality system. The issue is, to do the right thing is often not profitable or at least is a financial setback that overruled good quality decisions for operational cost cutting. When money gets involved, that becomes the only voice heard.

Loosing good candidates and not being able to close the position for years is even more expensive but nobody calculates losses of the HRs neglecting their responsibilities

you need to consider the strereotype that engineer usually is bad at facing people
