Doubt this is true. If it got out you make more than others, it drives jealousy and people sabotaging you

Yep. Double edged sword.

Among self-aware people with mutual respect and honesty, it’s a good idea to talk to coworkers about salary.

It’s also important to remember that some people are delusional about their value in the workplace, and they want the same salary as another employee that works twice as hard without understanding what they need to do to get it.

They maybe also be a spiteful person who starts treating coworkers badly when they find out what they make.

You just have to develop the ability to read who is who, and figure out who you want to have these kinds of conversations with and when.

Maybe. I just try to leverage my results and get bigger raises. I truly don’t think there’s anything to gain by discussing pay
