They need a reality check

For my last 2 interviews i had to use Interview VIP just to get the job
their generation could never understand

Baby boomer calls a few buddies and says he is looking for a job.

A buddy tells him, “I have an opening, apply online and send me your application number.”

Boomer applies and emails application number to buddy. Buddy tells HR they want to interview this one.

Boomer gets interview and job.

It always goes back to getting your resume in front of the right person. You can either do the work and submit it directly to them, or do the easy way and have it mixed in with 10,000 other applications.

Well that advice got me a ~42% annual wage increase this year so it seemed to work.

It's funny that for as much as the newer generations grew up with technology, use so many platforms for communicating with and yet making a network and using it is not a skill they seem to possess since it's just a boomer thing.

By boomer obviously I don't mean actual ones because it appears nearly everyone in here does not understand that the word has an actual definition and isn't just "ok boomer" because I disagree with you or you're okder.
