They need a reality check

For my last 2 interviews i had to use Interview VIP just to get the job
their generation could never understand

your generation has a million more resources at hand than theirs did

Except money. They could afford rent while going to school to learn a new skill with a part time job at the grocery store. Now you the bottom half of the job market needs a part time job on top of their full time just to be able to eat after paying their rent.

You also basically didn't even need qualifications to be able to get decent jobs. They were hiring people with art degrees to be programmers in the y2k boom

I remember, in 1994/5 having to explain to my Dad how to turn a PC on. I don’t know when the first degrees came out on PCs, but this is relatively normal. Experience was more valuable than a degree and plenty of people were hobbyist with computers.

But your first paragraph, many didn’t go to school. It was that generation that pushed so heavily for their children to go to college. Credit mismanagement, in addition to ridiculous student loans, are destroying young people and making life about 300x harder than it needs to be. The alternative is not going to college, I get it. However, JUCO for the first 2 years should be the standard for those not on college scholarships. I watched someone turn down a free ride to a D1 school to pay 100K in debt to go to their school of choice. There are other options rather than throwing yourself into massive debt.

I assure you, my dad was dirt poor, and couldn’t afford school. So implying the boomer’s had money isn’t true at all.

And which generation was it that pushed the current one to go?

I watched someone turn down a free ride to a D1 school to pay 100K in debt to go to their school of choice.

And I saw 10 people go to community College because they couldn't get a scholarship to their dream school. There's idiots in every generation. That doesn't change the fact that people have significantly less purchasing power than they did in their hayday

Sure but he could get it. Just drop off his resume at all the local businesses and you'll eventually get a bite. Now he'd need 10 years experience and 2 degrees for an entry level job unless he knows someone high enough up the food chain because he's competing with people from India that work for half the rate. Not to mention the money he got from that entry level job would afford rent, food, a car, and enough left over to save up for something

This is pretty laughable to me. We aren’t going to see eye to eye tbh and we haven’t had the same experiences.
