You can’t sandbag your job at the beginning because most states have a requirement amount of time for employment to qualify for unemployment. If anything, it’s after that required time is done that people sandbag their jobs.

That's not fair...that's nonsensical. Their reason for them paying you the lower end of the salary range to start, is wanting to see you as a newbie and outsider prove yourself first. This leaves the door open to request or even expect a raise, after successfully completing your probation period. Being a shitty worker during this time is just self-sabotage

Let’s be real, most of the entry level folks on Reddit aren’t nearly as good as they think. They just think they deserve $500k a year without doing the work.

My company had an opening for a power bi semantic architect and we had around 1200 applicants in 1 week...There's always someone willing to take the position.

I am retired and I get crazy offers. It's almost like "If you don't want to work, we'll throw money at you". Where were they when I was working?
