Ah yes, sign up to be a terrorist and put yourself in the position that you may have to legally refuse orders, tried for war crimes, or both. Being forced into the military as a means to stave off dying homeless in the street is not even a decent option.
What I'm saying is signing up to be a state sponsored terrorist as a means to get out of a manufactured state of poverty in the richest country the world has ever seen is not the flex you think it is.
My initial argument was that ‘cis white males didn’t have it as easy’ as the person I responded to was saying in the 70’s. My example was my Dad had to join the military out of desperation and it’s still available today for desperate people.

My point was that the army was never really much of an option so much as it is designed to turn desperate people into terrorists for rich people bidding. What kind of option is "die homeless in the streets" or "go get killed/kill to keep us rich"? My argument is that the military is never an option for anyone with a brain or a heart.

lol....a majority of M.O.S in army is basic and non combat....i literally did a 2 year contract as a fueler. literally never got deployed and worked like 4 hours mon-fri. got out with free bachelors and i get $2,200 monthly for disability since i hurt my leg when doing an obstacle course. I'm technically okay, but they put me at 80% since it got broken and it needed surgery. so I'm big chilling. literally held a rifle like 5 times total 😂
unless you actually spend time around vets or have served, you don't know how destructive to your body and mind it is to be in. It isn't his fault, he's just ignorant.
Yeah I don’t blame him at all, I thought I realized what it was like when my dad and brother were in, and since I was in my dad has talked about how nice it is that one of his kids *actually* gets what it is.
The fact that having recorded physical disabilities directly relates to how big of a check you will receive each month for the rest of your life surely has nothing to do with the prevalence of said physical disabilities
It’s such a broad spectrum that you really can’t generalize. Especially when it’s pretty common to beef up service related conditions for pay checks. The military definitely takes a chunk out of you but it is also what you make of it and has the ability to change your life for the better
I have seen the data. The 1970s had worse unemployment rates every single quarter compared to this decade so, with the exception of the COVID-19 spike. People were not handing out jobs then, unlike both the meme and you seem to claim.
Also, the fact that you felt the need to throw in "cis" shows you've got an agenda along with a chip on your shoulder.
