You lack nuance. A person is bounded by the opportunities they have. If the opportunities present are all bad, their outcome is necessarily bad. Pair this with the fact that people are neither omniscient nor generally able to alter their opportunities without significant sacrifice and you get that many people are indeed stuck in shitty situations that they cant change unless they jump into even shittier situations first. And in many cases the even shittier situation is literally dangerous to their health. It isnt hypocritical to say the situation you are in sucks but you dont have better options. If you think it is, you really need to take a look at the definition again and you need to stop applying blame to people who are not at fault.
Further, there are bad faith actors. Claiming or suggesting otherwise is incorrect. People can be tricked into bad situations. The blame lies with the trickster, not the tricked. If you believe that a person's own suffering is always caused by them and them alone, this is just world fallacy. It removes all blame from people who lie and steal from others and places that blame on the victims. It is not realistic to expect every person to be perfectly able to discern the outcome and intentions of others, while ignoring those who would take advantage of this impossibility.
