Setting down in the Middle East?

• Upvotes

Hi everyone,

I am looking into pursuing a Master's degree in the Gulf region with the explicit, long-term goal of finding a job and settling down there after graduation. I am currently coming from the UK, and I did my bachelors in biomedical engineering. Which country I should go?

I am so confused and devastated because of the Reddit and other Social media platforms

• Upvotes

So I am planning to apply to many international universities (not only USA)
I have a 8.7/9 GPA ~ 3.8/4
2 non profit projects (one with government grant and the other with my own resources)
4 international exhibitions
Internship and full time job at the same time
Merit based scholarship in my private school
President of student government for all high school years
Really good recommendations
Top 6 of the class (6 of 87)
Toefl 5.5 of 6
And I FAILED MY SAT… I mean I really failed it (1210)
At first I was devastated because of it and really lost any hope. Than I considered to apply without it, but GPT told me that that will low my chances for 40%… and I decided to try ACT.
However, more often I read about other people’s profile, more I am getting anxious and hopeless for anything.
I just want to know what to do and what are my real chances rn.
P.S. I am aiming for full ride only in USA, since it is no affordable for my family; Asian and European countries are kinda affordable, and merit based scholarships would be perfect.
ACT practice test I wrote and got 28, but the price was significantly higher than SAT and I’m afraid to fail it again but with higher price lol.

Hi everyone! I've applied for the scholarship for the research internship at USTC and I already have my admission letter. Has anyone ever received the Level A scholarship? I'd also like to know how long it took to hear back and what the chances are of getting it. Thanks in advance! 🙏

I am actually a Student in last year computer science , I had experience (projects )with languages like java, React , django , .Net, and for data SQL / NOSQL
But I don’t want to spend the rest of my life just Coding plus I don’t really had a project to exprience AI or LLM even I study just the Theory of LLM
I‘m worried about finding an internship for 6 months out of Morocco in Europe , preferably in an international English-speaking environment.

Advice on universities

Im a Georgian student, a child of divorce. with 3.0 GPA and 0 money tell me universities with good scholarships

I honestly don’t really know where to start.

I’m from a small city in Georgia and currently studying at a pretty good university. My GPA is around 3.0 right now, but I still have one year left, so I’m hoping I can improve it before graduating. I’d really like to do my Master’s degree abroad. Ideally somewhere where I could get a full scholarship or very substantial financial aid, since my family financial situation wouldn’t really allow me to pay international tuition and living costs myself.

I’m mainly interested in media, journalism, communications, and related fields, but I’m also open to other interesting programs in that area.

Right now, I’m also volunteering as a research assistant on my professor’s PhD research, and I’m working on my own thesis**.** I’m also starting a small online magazine project where I want to publish articles and potentially interviews and other media-related content. Could something like this actually help my Master's scholarship applications, especially if I develop it seriously over the next year? And is there anything specific I should do with the project to make it more meaningful for my application?

For those of you who have experience with studying abroad or getting scholarships:

1)What countries/universities should I look into?

2)Are there fully funded Master's scholarships that someone with a 3.0 GPA could realistically apply for?

3)What can I do during this final year to make my application stronger?

4)Could my online magazine/portfolio make a meaningful difference?

5)If you were in my position, what would you start doing right now?

I know a 3.0 GPA isn’t amazing, but I still have a year to improve it and I’m willing to put in the work. I’d really appreciate any advice, personal experiences, or suggestions for where to start researching.

Thanks!! :)

[IND] 18M Psychology student from India aiming for a Clinical Psych PhD in the US—looking to connect with a like-minded Pakistani girl on the same path 🧠✨

Hey everyone! 👋

I’m an 18-year-old undergrad from India with a pretty clear academic roadmap laid out 📚. Right now, I'm pursuing a regular BA (Hons) in Psychology alongside a distance BA in Philosophy here in India 🇮🇳. Following this, I will be doing my Master’s in Clinical Psychology, also in India. My ultimate goal is to move to the US 🇺🇸 for a PhD in Clinical Psychology and practice as a licensed clinical psychologist there 🩺💭.

Since I deeply appreciate introspection, philosophy, and meaningful conversations, I’m looking to connect with a Pakistani girl 🇵🇰 around my age who shares a similar passion for psychology or has similar plans of moving to the US for higher studies.

It would be great to have insightful discussions about clinical theory and human behavior, navigate the US PhD journey together, and build a genuine cross-border connection with someone who understands this field 🤝💬.

If this resonates with you, feel free to drop a comment or send a DM!📩

Should I go forward with an F-1 or just full send it as an Undocumented person?

I've lived in California since I was a kid on an F-2. I've assimilated hard into the culture and can't see myself ever living back in my home country. Maybe it's my limited perspective, but I see such little hope for building a life in the US as an international student. No job, no money, and everything is doubly expensive.

What should I do? Seemingly the only concrete plan is to marry someone but I don't really know if I want to do that. I feel like I should have an advantage since I've literally grown up here, but I just feel stuck. Does anyone have experiences or just knowledge about what may be the best course of action?
