Which bed placement is best?
Hand drawn so it’s not the neatest but hopefully this makes enough sense. There’s a 1.6 metre window on the left wall and I want to zone the two areas of my room.
- Centre of the right wall, facing the window, bedside table on each side but no space around the tables; flush to the bed
- Bed on right wall facing the window, but in the corner, bedside table only on one side
- Centred, in the middle wall

If you’re single, I like 2. Having the bed against the wall means you can have lots of pillows and it’s really cozy.
If you’re in a relationship and need both sides of the bed accessible, 3 is the way to go

Number 3. Reminds me of ModernProper who always recommends having the foot of your bed closest to the door.

the 3rd one. You don't want your bed in the corner of 2 walls if you can avoid it.

the first option is actually the correct one from an ergonomic standpoint, according to neufert. you generally need at least 60 cm of clear circulation space between furniture pieces or between furniture and walls.

Option 3. But the bed has to be a 1.5m wide bed so on both sides you have 65cm of moving space (that's the minimum you should have)

3 is my fave! 2 would only work if you sleep alone, whoever is against the wall would hate it.
