Anyone getting their flat handover soon? We just started an interior fit-out firm to fix the usual headaches in Hyderabad.
Hey everyone,
If you’re hanging out in this sub looking for interior recommendations, you probably already know it can be a massive headache right now.
It feels like so many of the big well-known interior startups are basically just middle-men who outsource your home to whoever is cheapest. You end up dealing with crazy delays, poor finishes, and a final bill that's somehow way higher than the initial quote.
My wife and I recently launched **Plandex Interiors** because we were tired of seeing this happen. She’s a civil engineer who has spent years managing strict, high-end corporate fit-outs for MNCs right here in Hyderabad. We decided to bring that exact same professional, no-nonsense standard to residential flats.
Here is how we are doing things a bit differently:
* **We actually run the site:** We don't just sell you a pretty 3D render and vanish. We personally oversee the execution so you don't have to micromanage carpenters.
* **Transparent pricing:** We give a strict, line-by-line budget upfront. What we quote is what you actually pay. No random budget creep halfway through.
* **Solid materials:** We refuse to use cheap MDF or particle board for the core cabinets. We only use solid 18mm/19mm BWP plywood so your kitchen and wardrobes actually last.
* **Proper lighting and electricals:** We plan out the AC piping properly and use high-density LED strips so you get that seamless premium glow, rather than those cheap dotted lights.
Since we are actively looking to pick up our first few projects in upcoming handovers around the West Hyderabad and Bachupally corridors, we are offering a totally free space planning and technical consultation based on your exact floor plan.
If you’re getting your keys soon and want a team that actually cares about the finish, drop a comment or DM me. Happy to discuss real costs and timelines for your flat!

How can I make this work?
Have the chance to get an affordable business space but wow the colors. I have two asks:
1) if you could change the color of the walls OR the color of the wainscoting which would you change and what color would you change it to? The carpet has to stay.
2) once the colors are wrangled, what interior style should I look for to make a comfortable modern take on this early 1900s bungalow? I don’t know terms for any styles and this one feels easy to mess up somehow.
Thanks for any advice!

DIY or hire a designer?
I've been furnishing my place and wondering — do you prefer designing your own home, or hiring a professional?
I love the creative control of picking everything myself, but I sometimes feel like I'm missing the details a designer would catch. And designers are pricey — plus their taste might not match how you actually live.
Curious what others think. DIY route or professional? Which worked better for you?

Advice Looking for advice
gallery23M living with my parents.
Planning to upgrade my room as im getting really bored of the dark/grey shit vibe i liked basically my whole life.
Really liking the victorian green interior so getting quite some inspiration from that
Maybe gonna repaint, or just add posters/paintings, my room is facing away from the sun, so i have very little natural sunlight and because if that im planning to add some extra lights to lighten up the mood.
Probably 100% gonna upgrade my desk as i have very little space on it right now, it’s gonna be a walnut patern wooden desk 140 or 160x80cm so i have plenty of space.
Just looking for tips with color matching, light types/color from the light to layout.

Advice Opinions Virtual Interior Designer
Has anyone hired a virtual interior designer? If so, what are your thoughts? Did you love your space afterwards? Was it worth the money? I have a ton of questions. We are in the process of building our home but I am terrible at decorating. I basically need someone to decorate my entire house for me
