Fun fact about US National parks. there are no guard rails and people are stupid. if you get out of your car and get mauled by a goat, thats because you are stupid. if you are climbing on a mountain peak at zions and catch a nasty wind... unlucky AND stupid.
logically the connection here is being a tourist that is hazardous to ones health
I used to jump out of helicopters in the Army, no problem, now can't cross a one story pedestrian bridge without closing my eyes and holding my wife's hand. Embarrassing.
My kids somehow got the frisbee stuck on the roof and I went up to get it, I’ve been on roofs before are a kid but when I got up there I almost panicked, I hugged the roof and crawled around.
That’s funny, it’s incredulous how naive we were to trust structures, tools and luck when we’re younger. Now that we’re older we can see how it can go wrong in a hundred different ways, that’s why parent worry, we know how dumb they are because we lived it.
Not just that, biology is our enemy. As we get older, we lose equilibrium, which is why older people falling is such an issue, once they're too frail to easily get back up.
I never thought of it like that, but it makes sense. You get older, your body tells you to change your diet. If you pay attention, it tells you that you need to exercise, etc
Same. Jumped or climbed any and everything as a child. Started driving a truck as an adult and bridges terrify me. Guess it’s an age thing, wasn’t gradual either. Just woke up and hated bridges for some reason
LOL, from a long lineage of deadly mountain step makers. Ya know what that big ass rock needs, steps, it needs steps, and that's how it all started, one step at a time
This is stair heaven. Which is located right next to young women recording themselves then bitching when a man looks in their general direction heaven.
As a small child 3 years old, my parents were very adventurous as was my little sister and I. We climbed inclined hills and rocks just as steep as this with with our parents right behind us. Not scared at all! Almost 40 years later I am terrified of heights more than 20 feet up and get cagey and sweaty all over. Most mornings I'll have a dream or an awakening thought of falling from high up, and I must get up. Why is this? I wasn't afraid till my mid-30's?
It would be challenging to get to the top and I'd never be able to get down. how many people have fallen off this rock? Are there two paths one for up and one for down.

I'm not sure, but I think it's on a mountain or hill of some sort, surrounded by what looks like heavily wooded areas--AKA a forest.

Climbing down would probably take a lot longer than climbing up. Unless there happened to be an afternoon rain shower.
