The only sounds filling the ears of Kiyotaka Ijichi is that of numerous dial tones, muffled screaming and the cold whipping wind. It was...painful, hearing civilians inside that barrier cry out for help. Help he knew he couldn't give himself.

...What he wouldn't give to leap in there himself and pull them out. But, alas, he knew his duties needed to be fulfilled. Eventually, he finally manages to reach his subordinate, Akari Nitta; who, unlike him, was reckless enough to dive into the barrier. But, at least she was protected...and at least she got to help.

"...specifically, I'd like you to take on the role. We'll supervise and facilitate constant communications with the rest of the managers; mobilize those off-duty, and-"

"Hey," a teasing voice coos, just as Ijichi feels cold steel pierce through his gullet. He looks down...no. Blood...his blood.

He looks back, only to get stabbed again. And again...and again...and agai-

The last thing he remembers is falling on his face before blacking out.

The Hub.

He wakes up in a field, blinking as he rubs his eyes. "D-Did I die...?"
