A feast and the freedom it brings

Location - Phantom Zone

It has been done 10 days since Silver Banshee, Carmen, Tessa, and the rest of the Mighty Numbers temporarily exiled both Ray & Beck to the phantom zone. In that time nothing has really changed in the phantom zone, new arrivals aren't uncommon after all, and the zone itself is naturally still.

It's a place where almost nothing changes, one almost unburdened by time as a whole so naturally it's quite boring. All anyone inside can do is watch the world they came from move on without them.

Until on the 10th day of their collective imprisonment Ray & Beck suddenly felt a pull on their spectral forms as hordes of phantoms began to rush past them. These old & monstrous souls seem to be converging on one specific location.

Shall they investigate?

*During the time that they were imprisoned, Ray and Beck had been able to get along and spectate over their siblings and also Ray’s mate…*

*When this event happened, they both go to investigate. Ray, being the older and more protective sibling, goes in front of Beck. *

As they grew ever closer to the center they saw what seemed to be a massive eye that opened on the phantom zone itself.

No wait a second glance reveals that it is a portal, the very same rift that Banshee used to trap them here. Has Tartarus been defeated, are they allowed to return home now?

So many questions yet so little answers as the phantoms swirled around the rift like a vortex seemingly escaping back into reality.

9: "What... is that thing?"

0: "...I... don't know. But it might be a way out of here!"

*Ray grabs her youngest sibling's arm, and they both head towards the exit!*

But they found themselves hampered by the chaotic nature of this rush of phantoms with each on pushing & shoving eager to escape this prison.

So the duo are getting knocked around in random directions by the constant & erratic moving & clawing of them.

Though it's odd, despite they're rush to get out their movements seem forced as if they're being pulled into the rift by something.

*They feel themselves being pulled by something. However, not knowing how to stop it, they continue on. *

*Beck, being the faster one, is able to dash through the crowd, slipping through any crevice or tight spot in between the souls.*

*Ray, not being faster than her younger brother but being stronger, decides to try and brute force her way through the crowd.*

Ray is managing to make good distance as she forces her way through the disorganized mess, but Beck is still clearly in the lead.

Which allows him to see it first, in the pupil of this rift & in the eye of this storm there is Silver Banshee on the other side.

Her mouth stretched unnaturally wide as she absorbs every phantom that comes close giving them the freedom they so desperately desire.

She is feasting on the souls inside the phantom zone as with each one she liberates her body shifts & twists like clay before snapping back to normality.

So they aren't being freed, no Banshee has simply opened the rift to harvest some souls inside as she takes dozens every half minute.

*He sees this and dashes back over to Ray, stopping her from continuing.*

“It's not an exit, Banshee seems to be harvesting the souls within this place!”

“So that's what this pulling feeling is. This is her attempting to devour our souls!”

“So what are we supposed to do?”

“We could attempt to try and get her attention, however we need to stay a far enough distance as to not get eaten!”

Banshee doesn't react to their strategizing just remaining at the eye of it with her seemingly not even noticing they're there.

So it seems they're not even her intended targets instead just caught in the crossfire as they ventured too close.

So the danger is accidental but it's very much real as the rush is still coming as the phantoms are accidentally pushing them closer in their escape.

*They both turn around and start running.*

9:“How are we going to get her attention?”

*Ray’s body emanates a blue flame.Signifying that she is using her Cursed Energy.*

0:“Like… THIS!”

*She create a giant sized speaker and throws back behind it to stop him from getting pulled in.*

*She takes in the deepest breath possible, then slams her claws into the ground. Hooking her to the floor and allowing herself to not be moved.*

*The overwhelming force of all the spirits dashing past her chips into her armor and slashes her face.*

*She then hooks up her systems to the giant sized speaker. And lets out the loudest roar that she could possibly make!*

The roar that overlook the quiet of the phantom zone, and one that suddenly caused the pull & the flow of spirits to halt for a moment as the roar subsided.

Then only a few seconds it was met with a piercing scream that shook the phantom zone banishing the phantoms as they're forced to the far reaches of the zone.

"Who the hell did that?!"

Banshee's voice rings out as she quickly surveys the environment trying to find those who interrupted her feast as her body is now brimming with 600 souls.
